Hi -
I was watching the Hawaii episodes --- the one thing that gets me everytime I watch it is that they should have made it longer (like a 2 hour special). It seems especially in the first episode that they don't show enough Hotel segments. Like where are the kids while Carol and Mike see the Don Ho act --- asleep in bed already.
What about some more sites? I don't know, maybe it's me --- and I know...the episode was supposed to focus around the Tiki Idol and all the bad luck they have. Of course, Cindy, Marcia and (I guess) Jan didn't have any bad luck at all!
Also you would think they'd call the police at the end and arrest Dr. Whitehead for holding the boys hostage.
Bottom line...I don't know if it's because I enjoyed it so much or if it's just that the scenes just went --- boom boom boom....but these series of episodes went by so quick that I expected that they'd stay a little longer.

Billy,
Are you watching the uncut DVD versions? Part 1 has a couple of added scenes in particular that you can't see anywhere else. A minimum 90 minutes for each of the episodes would have hekped continuity.
Indeed the Brady's were VERY apoligetic to Dr. Whitehead for holding the boys hostage in the cave! However, being The Brady Bunch, I suppose this type of scene was needed. The reaction is also similar when Zacharia Brown, the prospector, takes the family car and leaves The Brady's stranded in the Grand Canyon episodes.

To Answer your question Jack -
Yes I was watching the DVD version. I guess what I mean is I wish they had more scenes in general (whether it be site seeing or hotel scenes). It barely featured the girls (Marcia and Jan) other than the scene where they go site seeing in the 2nd episode. I would have like to have seen them scuba diving in the scene where they had the picnic. (Speaking of which that Spider really freaked me out when I was a kid).

Off topic, but these episodes are the reason why I want to visit Hawaii, without the bad luck though. I remember wishing that I wanted to go with them because it looked so much fun. I liked this story arc better than the Grand Canyon one. Kevin.

That's amazing that a TV show has an effect on a person like that. It goes to show that Brady Bunch was true pop culture.
At one point, I fell in love with Milcent when Bobby kissed her. I was always hoping that was me and I was hoping that the girls in my grade school would look like her. We were the same age then. Now, I look at that episode 30 years later and think to myself "Ew Girls! What was I thinking?" LOL

I always thought it was funny during the luau finale every single time one of the kids blew the conch shell, the laugh track burst out laughing like each of them had just told a big joke! I mean, it was passably entertaining but nothing to bust a gut over. Kinda like watching home movies with someone else's family with other family members cracking up while everyone else outside the family isn't all that impressed.
