Curse you, Twentieth Century Fox. I fell for your ploy and will be buying the "Martini & Medicine" set the day it's released.

Obviously they want to make more money. I am hoping the xtra dvds with the bloopers etc, can be bought seperatley

I wouldn't be surprised if, in a year or two, they re-re-release all the episodes in "best of" sets, like "best of Hawkeye" "best of Trapper" "best of Col. Blake" etc. Like what Columbia House did with their VHS tapes of the show.

Wouldn't really surprise me, either....lol...maybe if you already own seasons 1-3, you should make your own "best of trapper" and "best of henry" compilations and sell them beforehand :)

I have the first 10 seasons already and like the rest of you don't feel like buying them again (10 seasons x $30 = ....ugh) -- I have a netflix account and am just going to rent the new copies and check out the special features.

I sold seasons 1-10 on EBay a few weeks ago. Someone was kind enough to use the buy it now option and I sold them for $110. I had a gift certificate from Amazon.com for $25 and they were selling the set pre-order for $140. My final out of pocket was $5.

So I was pretty lucky. I didn't lose out on any $$. I kept telling myself it didn't bother me that they did this but then I did get a little angry. I emailed Fox DVD and didn't receive a reply. I just found a way to get this set. For $5, I get Season 11 (which I'd have to buy anyway) plus I get Seasons 1-10 and the extras for nothing.

Not sure if anyone on the MASH board is a Get Smart fan but they did it right. Time Life is selling the complete series with bonus features FIRST and then will begin selling season sets. I hope the response is good and that starts a trend. Now granted with Get Smart, I believe each season will have the bonus material but maybe other studios will take note. If they have a bankable series, maybe they'll release the whole thing first and then release season sets.

November is shaping up to be a good DVD month.
