I dont' have the $ to collect all the seasons, so I'm open for recommendations. If I only purchased 1 season of Cheers, which would you recommend?

I can answer this question in 2 ways.

If you are going to limit yourself to just 1 season, I would go with the Season 1, when Cheers was new, and at its freshest and most original. Plus the show won 5 Emmys (including for Shelley Long), its best haul.

Personally, however, I have always found Season 4 to be the funniest. With Diane having dumped Frasier, and not being (strictly speaking) involved with Sam but carrying on a season-long flirtation, the relationships are definitely the most interesting. Plus, it has a large number of episodes which, standing alone, rate among the best of the series.

I like season 5 a lot. That is probably my favourite season but 2 and 4 are also favourites of mine.

Seasons one and eleven were my favorites.

2 was great, now I prefer Sam & Diane over Diane & Frasier

I would also Prefer Sam and Diana
