HOLLYWOOD - Ryan Phillippe is set to take over from Tommy Lee Jones after reportedly landing the role of Harvey Dent/Two-Face in the upcoming Batman Begins sequel.
Reese Witherspoon's husband will join Heath Ledger, who has signed on to play The Joker, and new Batman Christian Bale in The Dark Knight.
Crash star Phillippe beat Liev Schreiber and Josh Lucas to the role of the scheming district attorney, played by Jones in 1995 movie Batman Forever, according to Internet reports.
Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman have also joined the Batman cast, while fellow Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman is in talks to play The Penguin in the new film.

I wouldn't have pictured him for Harvey Dent, but again I trust Nolan. Philip Seymour Hoffman seems like a good choice for Penguin. It just seems like there's a lot of villains in this upcoming sequel. I hope the focus remains on Batman and that hopefully the villains will all be developed and won't be full blown enemies in this film.
Wow, Heath Ledger and now Ryan Phillipe.
Well, it's certainly the prettiest bunch of villians ever to invade Gotham City.

I thought Reese was the breadwinner in that family...that is if they're still married.

Well, at least this will get him out of the house.

My only concern is I don't want them to make the same mistakes the original Batman movies made and that was throwing all these villians at us with zero character development.

Nolan chooeses good candidates but ones no one thinks of. It's always alittle out of left field...but not too out of left field. It just excites me more that he's not going with the frontrunner. I trust Nolan 100 percent.

Exactly.
