Gladys Knight and the Pips - they come closest, but I can't say "better"

No, none of them are better than The Isley Brothers.

Out of those others listed, I like Harold and the Bluenotes best.

Vocally Gladys Knight and the Pips are the best out of the four. Musically the Isleys are the best.

I like Harold Melvin and The Bluenotes better than the Isley Brothers.

I like Earth, Wind and Fire better than all of them.

When are you going to stop dissin' the Isley Brothers?! You should post about music, not diss a group of legends. You are going to be outnumbered, because the Isleys were legends. And HELL NO, NONE of those groups you mentioned are better than the Isleys! Gladys Knight is not that great of a singer for one!

Kool and the Gang and the Gap Band sound better than the Isleys

Kool & the Gang is my favorite group, but the Isleys were on a different level. They aren't in the Rock n Roll HOF for nothing. The Isleys were more polished than K&TG. The Gang was funkier and had a better horn selection. The Gap Band couldn't touch the Isleys.

I don't know whay you hate the Isleys so much, it's your perrogative. but you need to buy a bunch of their cds and listen to them again before you decide to diss them on this board.
