Anyone remember the theme from a Saturday morning kids show from the late 60s-early 70s titled Jambo? The show was hosted by former Daktari star Marshall Thompson and also featured Judy the Chimp. But I remember the theme song that went:

Jambo jambo means hello in a happy kind of an African way.
Jambo jambo means hello in a happy kind of an African way.

If you know the rest of the words, feel free to post.

I believe the Jambo theme song went something like this:

Jambo, Jambo, means "Hello" in a happy kind of an African way.
Jambo, Jambo, means "Let's go!" Have a happy kind of an African day.

Sing about the animals living in the jungle, wild and free
Don't it make you wish that you and me
Could watch them in the jungle all day long
And sing a happy Jambo song?

Jambo, Jambo means hello in a happy kind of an African way.
Jambo, Jambo means let's go, have a happy kind of an African day.

That's as close as I can remember the song. Hope this helps.

Yup, remember it well... I never knew the lyrics to it, but I liked the melody!

Seems like Jambo ran on Saturday mornings or afternoons in the late 60s / very early 70s, on a station out of New York (at least , that's what we saw it on, living in New Jersey).

But I've always liked that tune, even though i never really learned any of the lyrics...thanks for a nice reminder!
