I've been watching this show since I was 16 when it first debuted in 1998. And I still haven't gotten sick of it. There's just something so magical about this show, although the quality of the jokes got a little stale there towards the end. Still, eight seasons of pure hilarity is pretty good, if you ask me :)

I dunno what it is, but this show just has the perfect combination of humor (the comedic timing was always dead on and each character brought its own sense of humor and personality to the show), nostalgia (the clothes, the music, the whole relaxed 70's atmosphere of just "hanging out" was dead on), and reality (showed 'real life', not a sitcom version of life, for the most part). Not to mention a cast that just worked well together.


Does anyone else agree with me on this? As someone who hasn't lived through the 70's myself yet feels I have through this awesome show...well, I don't think I could ever get sick of it! :)

At first, I thought of the show as just another "Friends." But once I got to watching it, I realized it's the exact opposite. It's like the alternative "Friends." I can identify more with Eric and his friends than I can with the gang on Friends.

A couple guys I work with who grew up in the 70s say they like the show because it got it right. They say that's exactly what the 70s were like.

This show grew on me. I didn't like it originally. But after viewing the DVDs I've become a fan. Now it's in my top ten favorite sitcoms list.

It took me a long time to get into this show. It's quickly become a contender for my favorite shows of all time, maybe even surpassing Cheers. And I used to love Cheers.

It's sort of funny, looking back at posts here I sometimes mentioned liking That 70s Show, but yeah. I never watched it on a regular basis. It wasn't until this year (right before the finale aired) that I really got into it. One day I was sitting at home and a marathon came on FX, and after watching it I was immediately hooked. It was really strange. It had been on for years and years and it never did much for me, and all of the sudden I loved it. The more I watch it now the more perfect it seems to me. Everything just clicks.

I'm glad I watched that marathon.

i never get sick of it i lived in the 70s and even though i was only a child i knew some people like the gang from point place donna reminds me of my older sisters best friend even right down to the red hair and laid back manner hyde reminds me of 2 people that i know and have known all my life my other older sister looked somewhat like jackie back in the 70s except my sister is a little taller i knew one lady that was alot like midge in that she was so sweet but every thing went in one ear and out the other or over her head just like midge fes reminds me of 2 other people that i know my mother was a nurse in the 70s like kitty is and believe it or not at one time we had a neighbor named red although unlike red forman this red was a very nice man who kept to himself and just tried to be nice to other people and also the music and fashons are right on target it is one of the best shows on tv and anytime im in a bad mood i just put a 70s show dvd in or watch it on tv and it always makes me laugh

Yeh, the show just has me in stitches everytime. Similar things can happen in diff episodes but its still really funny.

I watched the first 2 seasons on Fox. Becuase of my hectic work schedule at the time, I missed most of Seasons 3 & 4 and saw little to none of Season 5 & 6.

I had forgotten that That 70s Show was still on the air when I stumbled upon summer reruns of Season 7 on Fox last year. I found myself cringing at what used to be a brilliant show, but because of that "magic" Number 9 Dream mentioned in the first post, I felt as though I had to watch it. The writing just wasn't what it used to be, but the show was still likeable. Even though I really hadn't seen the show in 3 or 4 years, I still found myself caring about the characters. I believe I managed to see all of the 7th season episodes as Fox reran them prior to Season 8. I saw all of the 8th season. Overall, the writing was much improved although "Randy" was an awful replacement for the departing Michael & Eric.

Hmmm... I'm glad, that some people actually say, that "That 70s show" is accurate in showing what life was like in the 1970s. I was born in 1984, so I wouldn't know, but I take your words for it. But I got the feeling, that the creators were young in the 1970s, just like Eric, Donna, Fez, Jackie, Kelso and Hyde. However, I also get the feeling, that it became less accurate to the 1970s feelings as the show went by. Having said that, yes, it was a really funny show, even though it's not a show, that I would watch with my mother (too much sex talk).

I like That 70's Show, too. I think one of the things that made the show great was the chemistry between the cast. It's tough making an ensemble comedy, and for every ensemble that makes it, there have to be two or three others in its place that don't.

Thank fo the shows that have pretty spectacular runs: Friends, Cheers, That 70's Show, The Golden Girls... all of which had great chemistry amongst the actors. You can see it in current shows like Entourage... LOVE that show!

Yes! I love this show. I wish it would have lasted forever.

I agree with MonarC. And yes, I did feel the magic. The characters had personality... we saw them grow up. That was nice.

lol....what is the problem with watching shows that talk about sex with Your parents? Nothing against You...I read that so often on this board....I even didn´t have problems with that during my puberty....let alone now....I would sit down anyday to watch the show with my mom, my dad, my grandparents...

Not in my family. For us, it would only become awkward. And once, my mum also complained about the show teaching kids to take drugs. I don't like how much drugs they take either, but I hope no one gets encouraged to do it by this show.

Its all in good fun and recreational use of drugs don't count :lol:...

well....the show is called That 70´s......the use of Mary J was rampant back then...lol...so it doesn´t encourage them...but just the reality of quite a lot of people back then....
