Actress Kate Hudson and her husband, Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson, are splitting, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.
The You, Me and Dupree star's rep, Brad Cafarelli, confirms that the couple are separating after nearly six years of marriage.
Hudson, 27, and Robinson, 39, wed on New Year's Eve 2000 after dating for about a year. Their son, Ryder Russell, was born Jan. 7, 2004.
In September 2004, while shooting Skeleton Key in New Orleans, Hudson told PEOPLE about her relationship with Robinson since Ryder's birth: "We're sharing something so gigantic now. I think it's the best we've ever felt being together."

Wow, that's a shocker. I always thought those two would be one of the few Celeb couples that never spilt up.

After seeing all these other couples split, I have no hopes for anymore Hollywood marriages. If Hillary Swank and Chad Lowe can divorce, than no one can survive.
Only those who are true and committed and don't let their careers dictate whether they are happily married or not.

Have faith. There is always Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin, Will and Jada, now if they split that is when I will lose faith.

That's a shame since they have such a young son, but I always thought that was the most oddly matched couple.
It seems lately I was reading about her going out without him too.

It almost doesn't surprise me because Kate Hudson has seemed like such a happy, vivacious person while Chris Robinson has come across as, well--a jerk. A negative jerk who is so uncooperative with the press and downright nasty to people. Sure, the Black Crowes have got some great tunes, but I have a feeling tht they didn't get as big as they could have because of his attitude. It might have been the one thing that caused lineup changes within the band for years. A shame, really.
