I was watching cable and 1 of the networks was adverstising that they were going to play back to the future with the edited scenes, and they mentioned that eric stoltz was fired after michael j fox became available for the part of marty mcfly, thats not true, eric stoltz turned down the part he didnt want it from what I was told and so they offered it to michael j fox, im gald they did I dont eric could have played the part with as much energy as michael did and thats what the part needed.

I think you're right. I think Eric turned it down or somewhere throughout the shoot he didn't want to be in the movie anymore or something. I think it says in "Lucky Man" by Michael J. Fox that they reshot the scenes that Marty McFly was in. It's been awhile since I read the book, so my memory could be a bit fuzzy. But, yeah, I don't think Eric was fired. I think he quit that film.
