Just curious because I would say 85% of trades I do the other trader uses dual layer disks. I don't use them mainly because they are a little bit more in price. Would it be a smart investment for me to switch over or is it not really that important?

Dual layer discs allow you to avoid compression, but I don't see the marginal improvement in quality justifying the much larger pricetag.

what are the disks without text on the front? There is no brand on them or anything. I get a ton of those, I thought that was dual layer.

I didn't know that was TY. When I got my burner for my computer it came with a dual layer disk that looks just like those. Hmm, I guess I know what disks I am switching to now.

TY discs can be gotten cheaper than most lesser quality
go to shop4tech.com
and u can get 100 8X discs for $27 with free shipping

and the 8X usually burn at 12 or 16 X on most machines with low error rates, so i buy them a lot b/c of that:wave:

I use the taiyo yudens that contain no writing. I've gone through about 250 of them without a bad burn.
