Very unlikely he will trade with you, more than likely will peak your interest but then offer to sell.

Lazygrae got the jump on me

Basic profile here

You get an email from quinncey who wants to trade

gosh oh gee oh darn he can't find anything

then you get the price

35, 50$ per tape per dvd.

Are the tapes/dvds ok quality- yeah usually
Are they worth 35-50 eh thats up to you.

But if you actually WORK out a trade, make sure to post it here, so I know the end of the world is coming-I like to be prepared

I am sure this time it will be different, all the signs indicate such.

You know, there is a reason why Hell and Iowa both have 4 letters.

Hell must already be frozen then because I completed a trade with him once. Considering I am currently in posession of something he wants, we may trade again. Or, I may offer it to him for $35 plus shipping. I can't decide.

The odd thing is he usually is missing several if not many episodes of a series that he offers you. But he doesn't seem the least interested in gaining missing episodes you have as trade for episodes he has. What could be a simple beneficial trade for both parties winds up a stalemate with him not responding to offers for a even trade.

I am STILL waiting for my tape from him I was promised over a month ago. He said it's going out this coming week so we shall see but somehow I don't believe it and think it will be more excuses.

If he needs it then you have to charge $50 cause it has to be ultra rare in his books.

Traded with James many times in the last 8 years or so, alot of people are jealous of his collection so they choose to rant about him. Whatever. I see him no different than a trader who has things you want and you dont have anything
to offer him, what happens, then no trade happens. Same with James if you dont have anything he wants then try and find it from someone else or give him what he wants. He doesnt force anyone to order from him.

Solomon is correct, he will trade you talk shows, variety shows and he is a huge Johnny Cash/Glen Campbell fan. Hope this helps!!

Yes, but what makes him different is that he charges unbelievable prices (FOR VHS NO LESS), and does not tell you that you may have to wait 6+ months for your order.

Like AJ the price is optional but I can understand how one can get pissed if they paid for something and had to wait months

I agree waiting that long for a trade or something you paid for is ridiculous. I'm having that same problem on Ebay now in which 3 months have passed and I never received what I paid for!

As for the outrageous or unbelievable prices, let me ask this can you find it in your local video store and what people pay for and charge is their own business its not like they make so much off of a single tape they can help pay for their mortgage.

If its something I really want, I'll pay almost anything to get it and I figure its better to do that than trade something rare in my opinion, that way I got what I wanted and didnt have to give up anything in return from my own collection.

I understand where your coming from with it being his choice to charge what he wants for rare sets, but his methods are very sly. He pretends to be interested in your list right up to the point that a trade is almost arranged, so that you are convinced your getting it, and then he hits you with the 'i couldn't see anything, $50 per 2 hours please'. Also, if you're going to charge the dearest prices in the business, then you have an obligation to deliver a service which justifies that price, and in this day and age (and with the money he makes from his sales) vhs and 6 months waiting time is unacceptable.

I agree everyone has the right to charge whatever they want
and as long as people pay that price, thats the way it goes.

BUT

I have received, accurately counting here 53 complaints in the time of moderating here.

Complaints that he has bothered them, even harrassed to buy.

His methods ARE sly and they ARE sneaky.

Yes he may have traded once or twice, but he opens the door with a trade, ONLY to drop a price under MOST cirucmstances, and when people say no, he literally won't take no for an answer.

Maybe someone will come forward about this- but to recap a recent complaint-
There was a user who said no to a sales offer-
And Quinccey contacted them 4 times after that.
So much that the user blocked their email.
So did quinncey take that as a no? Uh uh.
He used a DIFFERENT email and contacted them.
So the person said, very straight forward, STOP. I am not interested.
Did he take the hint no. He wrote 2 more times in a week.
I contacted him personally and said PLEASE stop bothering this person.
Ths second email was added to the persons block list.
A new one popped up and Quincey wrote them again.
He really got angry this time, told quinccye to stop bothering him- and made it clear he was annoying him.
Another name added
2 weeks later, a NEW email with new sales offer.

You have every right to try to work out a trade.
You have every right to charge whatever you want.
If you want to trade My sister same for 50.00 an hour, hey thats your choice.
if you want to trade Leav eit to beaver for 6 pints of goats milk- so be it.
But if someone says NO they deserve some respect.

And you go from offering to soliciting

And when you are blocked and you CHOOSe a new email, to get by that, that is at that point Deceptive and manipulating the email system to get by it.
That is no longer OFFERING something that is harrasment.

I don't care that he sells even at ridiclous prices
I care that he doens't respect people, their privacy or the moderators request when asking to leave other members alone.

And the above situation wasn't one user it was 3 seperate occasions, 3 seperate traders. so it isn't even as if, one trader was blowing it out of proportion, or making a big deal out of nothing.
3 different people 3 different opinions, all the same bottom line. He doesn't know when to back off.

Yes! He is totally insincere (a nice way of saying he is a liar) and a time-waster. Best to just stay away. My story:

I dont approve the way he treats people like that, I had no idea that he was harrassing people like that, which gives you the impression he is hard up for money which is a sad. My trades with him have been fine because he wanted something and I guess in other people's situations he baits and teases them and that is not right. I am aware of his multiple screen names, which have gone on for years, but to use multiple emails to harrass people over the same tape just doesnt make any sense. Its like oh maybe I will trick them into thinking I am someone else with a different alias or email....but duh if its the exact same show in question then who is he trying to fool!! The only reason I defend a Tina Ledbetter or a James Quinn because I had perfect trades with them, no problems whatsoever, so I have to admit when people come down on them that they are capable of having a honest trade every now and then. However, I dont condone their actions and shame on James for doing these things to people.
