View Full Version : How many times have you been stung by a bee?

I was stung... 3 times I do believe, each one I remember very clearly.

1: I was 7 years old on my grandmas deck (she lives with us) and this bee flew up and stung me on the cheek!!! I screamed and freaked out.
2: I was 9 (almost 10) years old on a feild trip with my class at a rock quary. there was a dead pigeon and bees were eating it and I went pased it and a bee stung me on the bak of the shoulder, everyone was amazed when I didn't cry.
3: I was like... 10, between 4th grade and 5th grade during the summer. I was cheerleading at a game right before the game started and a bee flew up my skirt and bit me really high up on my leg... it hurt really bad and my leg sweeled so much I couldn't cheer! I ALMOST DIED! Ok not really but it felt like it.

Well since Britt is a Jineddy (Jinny and Teddy) and Morganne is a Jinanybody (Jin and Anybody) I'm a JinMag, now you can figure that one out on your own.

Two times, I believe, and the weird thing is the first couple times I got stung I got a red dot after the bump went away, but the red dot never went away. They're there. Just a dot, not a bump.

Anyway, I got stung once when I was 4. It was on my right leg, just above my knee. I was just playing outside and a bee came up near me and I didn't know any better so swatted at it and it stung me. The second time was on my left thumb; I was 8, and I was at some Christian camp that only lasted one day. Girls in Action or something like that. We held our hands in prayer and out of no where a bee stung me. The third time was when I was 12. I didn't get a dot, that I can see. I was swimming in my pool and I, unaware, grabbed a raft right where a bee was sitting and it flew up and stung my elbow.

Teddy: Hey, I'm making you an offer you can't refuse.

Jinny: Look, you know who I am, OK? You know who my family is. Why the hell do you even wanna be with me at all?
Teddy: Because, I love you.

I've been stung too many http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif I'm allergic, so I remember it each and every time. Luckily, the worst that has ever happened to me was breaking out in hives.

I have never been stung by a LIVING bee. Once I was in the pool and I saw this dead bee, so stupid as I was, I picked it up and touched the stinger to see what would happen..I got poked though, not stung. It still hurt though!

Zero times. The only but that ever stung or bit me was a mosquito, and that was many times.

I'm lucky, I've never been stung. But a few weeks ago I waiting in the car and a bee fell (it was dead) through the window and hit my arm. I started freaking out, cuz I thought I had been stung, but it turns out I hadn't been. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

Twice. The first time I was about 3, I was getting the extension cord for the saw 'cause my dad asked me to so I was running my hand along as I pulled it towards the house. And I guess I bugged it 'cause it stung me, and I swear, that thing was huge! It left this big *** hole in the middle of my right hand. The second time I was umm, 11, I was trading Poke'mon cards at school and someone bumped my book against my arm and hit the bee so it stung me. I had to go to the office and it swelled up pretty big and my ma had to come in.. Of course, I was happy 'cause I missed some school and I had gotten a Garados (sp?)! Haha.

I got stung once when I was like, seven at a day camp. I was going over to tell my counselor when another bee came along and stung me about an inch away from the first. Not fun, I'll say that.

I have been stung several times and 1 time she got me in a vein!!

Her stuff went all thru me and I broke out in something. Hives or whatever.....

I was laying in my bed and she was under me I guess...... I got up and she must have thought I was attacking her.......

When I was about 5, we had this stack of the old wooden bushel baskets sitting out by the cords of firewood we always kept. And I decided to investigate. Inside that stack was a wasps nest, and boy did I set them off. Stung on my face, arms, torso, ears,...they really let me have it. I think the neighbors 6 doors down to either side must have heard me squealing.

In my 20's one morning just as I was waking up, my ankle was tickling. So I took the big toe of my other foot over to scratch it....and BAM! Bumble Bee...man did he let me have it I had been awake maybe all of 15 seconds before he lit me up....heck of a way to wake up.

But the worst, just a few years ago.....I have mild heart failure, so I tend to gasp for air with moderate exertion ...and I winded myself one day and as I gasped for air I inhaled a sweat bee. And you know that spot where sometimes a pill will get stuck when you're trying to swallow it? nailed me.

And my throat immediately started to get tight, swollen. breathing became very difficult, because it felt like I had a golf ball stuck in my throat. And there was not a soul near me, woulda had to walk 80 feet just to get where some stranger MIGHT see me. never could have made it.

So, I just flattened out on the ground and did everything I could to force each breath, for a good 10 minutes until things started to get back to normal.

Other than those 3 episodes, I consider myself to have a very positive relationship with bees. Normally I can walk through a flower garden filled with bees, and they don't bother me, I don't bother them. But those 3 exceptions were eye openers.

See? that's what makes very little sense about you. I'm not trying to solicit sympathy. Just relating my experience.

I have no idea if your "sorry" is intended as sincere, but it comes across as patronizing.

Either way, totally unnecessary :)

OK, not a bee but a wasp, but yellow jackets are VERY nasty. Twice over the years while mowing I've stepped on a ground nest and got it many times on the legs.

As a kid I used to get stung by wasps and yellowjackets quite often.... I've accidently stepped on honeybees barefooted and got stung... I like honeybees, they're not aggressive and usually only sting if you step on them. Stung by a bumblebee once, again it was on my shirt and I put my arm down mashing it and it stung me through the shirt, so that softened it a bit.

Thankfully never been stung by a hornet, I hear those are the most painful

Anybody watch that show with those two idiots rating the pain of various stings and bites? "Kings of Pain" I think it's called.
I actually feel sorry for the animals.
