even though it has been 8 years i am still upset that good shows such as step by step and family matters as well didn't receive better endings. for sbs if they hired new writers i am sure that they could have gone 1 maybe 2 years more. just my opinion.

I think "SBS Fanatic 99" meant that it's been 8 years since "Family Matters" and "Step By Step" were last on-the-air in new episodes. Side note: "Family Matters" actually lasted 9 seasons, and the producers wanted to make a 10th season focused around Steve and Laura's married life (and the reinduction of Judy into the cast) but CBS canned it. I always thought UPN or the WB (or even NBC) should have picked it up after CBS canned it (if it were on UPN or WB it might have lasted a few more years). This show was too family-friendly for Fox, however (ironically many stations showing "Family Matters" and "Step By Step" reruns were Fox affiliates).

I always felt that if Sasha Mitchell never got booted from the show, it could have lasted another 2-3 seasons. Family Matters started to get boring around season 7-8.

yeah but still great shows like that deserve class endings! oh well, at least it is not like the simpsons right now. not even worth mentioning.
