You know how most websites ask-"Keep me logged in at this computer? Does that decrease speed?

It drops a cookie onto your browser. The effect if any on performance is negligable.

the REAL downside is if you do that on a public computer - if you forget to log out, ANYONE can log in as you.

I agree. I use so many different computers when I am at work at my college, and I sometimes sub a computer class and then log into here and the other forums I frequent. I always try and remember to logout right before I leave for the day for this very reason. I panic if someone else finds this forum and tries to post as me. :mad:

It's a good thing that most of our computers are running Deep Freeze so the computer is restored to its original settings once the computer is rebooted. That's a plus.

That's so true! Be sure to log out when you are on a public computer! I usually don't visit SO or other forums I belong to on public computers. I fear someone will log in as me and wreak all havoc...well that's just me. But it's always safest to make sure you log out on a public computer.
