Season four of The Facts Of Life begins today in Chicagoland. I've seen a couple of episodes from this season like the excellent "Teacher's Pet" and the really good two parter "Best Sister". However, much of the episodes from this season I have not seen. I know that the season does end with the famous "Graduation" two-parter. I've also heard a lot of good things about the episode "Take My Finals, Please". The episode "Ain't Miss Beholden" also sounds terrific. Any old way, what are some of the episodes that I have to look forward to? Which are the best? :D

The fourth season isn't one of my favorites, but "Take My Finals, Please" is a classic. One of my favorite episodes of the series overall.

I might be in the minority but I never loved the two parter Graduation episode. Of course it's a must watch for FOL fans anyway, but it was always too shouty for me. There's a lot of anger and unhappiness all around.

Unfortunately, I can't even remember what eps. are in Season 4. Sorry I'm no help.

yes, season 4 was also not a favorite of mine... a lot of the episodes in the series were good, but for some reason, i just was never a HUGE fan of season 4, except for a few eps... those would include The Source, Dearest Mommie (one of my ALL time favorite episdoes!!!), For the Asking, Let's Party (another great episode involving a serious issue), and then Who's on First (which i haven't seen in a LONG time and i am anxious to see it!)

Take my Finals is a classic episode... i really enjoy it... my favorite line is from Natalie when she says, "Great Blair, you've gone from food to sex and I can't have either!" Oh man that line just cracks me up! But i am majorly looking forward to seeing this episode UNCUT, becuase both USA and NaN have really cut this episode up in different pieces and i wanna see it all pieced together.

I have to agree with raya, I guess the whole graduation thing focused WAY too much on the fact that Blair and Jo's families were each having different problems... I think it should have focused more on the girls, maybe having them all attending a graduation party... there just was no episode leading up to their graduation really excpet the one where jo got accepted to langley but knew she couldn't afford to go until having to talk with her mom about it... and i hate that supposedly funny line in that episode where mrs. g says, "You've got somethign fat back there" pointing to Jo's butt... i guess i just never found that funny. But i think there should have been more preperation up to the graduation, and somethign else just going along with graduation... more about moving onto college, more college preperations i suppose...

Anyways, i'll describe some of the episodes i said were my favorite. For one, The Source... this is a great episode that showed how Eastland was a school unlike every other... that the girls in that school really did have sex and possibly got pregnant... the talk between Natalie and Annie is priceless which goes right along with the talk between Natalie and Mrs. G... although it could have been done out a little better. Dearest Mommie... oh man! great episode! This is the episode where Natalie ends up finding out who her real mother is and wants to go into the city to see her... It's a great show of how Natalie is dealing with her adoption, how Mrs. G helps her through it as well as her mother... and even her mother has a hard time knowing that she might be playing second to Natalie's REAL mother... it's just a great episode filled with emotion and mindy cohn did a WONDERFUL job! For the Asking... Natalie boycotting the sadyhawking's day dance, the guy she has a crush on is actually pretty cute (still considered it... hehe!). Let's Party... dealing with drunk driving and just drinking in general... i think that becuase Blair and Jo would have been of age at this point in their life, that they should have possibly joined in in the festivities... but i love the game they play on jo and the talk between Mrs. Garrett and Tootie is very powerful... Tootie, "Mrs. Garrett, it was just beer..." Mrs. Garrett, "Just beer? And beer isn't alcohol?! How many times have i heard that one" that line is just so powerful. i love it! And then to Who's On First... where they finally let Natalie have a boyfriend (i believe this is the boy that she went to the dance with in For the Asking) and she's CRAZY about him... it was about time they put her into the dating scene!! Afterall, tootie had been asking boys out long before this! Anyways, she's been neglecting tootie... and this is just a CLASSIC case of this age and even through college... i see it with my friends all of the time. It was awsome for FOL to brush this subject... But all i remember is a bowl of popcorn, hehe...

So now that i have talked your ear off, i will let you enjoy season 4... man, now i want to see all of these episodes really bad!!! Oh well, enjoy!

Season four is nearing it's end here in Chicago. There are only about four episodes left to go. After reading some of the above posts I was expecting season four to be a let down, and even though I don't think it is quite as good as the first three seasons, I still think that it is a very good season. I certainly wasn't disappointed. As I mentioned in my first post in this thread, prior to now, the only fourth season episodes that I have seen are "Teacher's Pet" and "Best Sister".

"Teacher's Pet" is my all time favorite Facts episode, so it is certainly my favorite episode of season four. This is such a sad and emotional episode and Nancy McKeon is just nothing less than terrific in it. I think this episode shows more than any other how great a dramatic actress Nancy is. And the fact that she was like only 16 at the time, I think her performance in this episode is even more impressive. Two other great Jo episodes from season four are "Ain't Miss Beholden" and "A Woman's Place". I love at the end of "Ain't Miss Beholden" where Blair says to Jo, "I can admit that we are friends even if you can't." I think this is a very important moment in the series for these two characters. "Magnificent Obsession" is a terrific Blair episode. This episode is also an important moment in the Blair/Jo friendship where Jo was there for Blair to help her through such a difficult time. "The Sound Of Silence" and "Who's On First" are two of the best ever Natalie/Tootie episodes and really show what a great friendship they have. "The Source" addresses a very important issuse (teenage pregnancy) in a very moving way without being too preachy (like "Let's Party" or season one's "Sex Education"). "Best Sister" shows that Blair isn't as shallow as she sometimes lets on. And that her life isn't as perfect as she sometimes lets on. Though "Guess What's Coming To Dinner", wasn't a great episode, the ending where Jo is chasing the squirrel around is priceless.

I PERSONALLY FEEL THAT EACH YEAR, FACTS GOT BETTER. THE WRITERS AND STAFF SEEMED TO BE FOREVER CHANGING, BUT THE ACTING SEEMED TO IMPROVE EVERY YEAR. I THINK THE WRITERS DID A GOOD JOB ALSO, TO SHOWCASE THE GIRLS' ACTING & OTHER TALENTS (LISA WHELCHEL'S VENTRILOQUIST (?) ACT, ETC.).

I like Season 3 better than 4, but that's just me. But the episode "Take My Finals, Please" is really good. You know you needed the tissues! I used to watch that one over and over.

The only season I find disappointing is the ninth and last season. There are a couple of good episodes like "Less Than Perfect", but the quality of the ninth season episodes over all weren't as good as the previous seasons. I am always surprised when I watch episodes from season eight though, because they are SO good. How many shows can claim to still have that level of quality after eight years?

Actaully, I have this bad feeling that ME-TV (the Chicagoland station which shows FOL) is going to stop airing it after September 15th. :( Last week they started airing promos for this fall and they showed clips from all the shows that they will be showing and they showed none from Facts. So I don't think that I am going to get the chance to see Boots St. Clair. I know that the first episode that Jami appears in is called "Gamma Gamma Or Bust".

That sucks. It's like they're toying with you....showing the show right up until she appears. :(

BTW Mike...I must say I love that avatar of yours.

WELL, I'M HOPING YOU'RE WRONG, DAX. I CHECKED ME-TV, AND THEY ARE SHOWING FACTS AS BEING SCHEDULED INTO AT LEAST THE END OF SEPT.:)

HAVE YOU GONE TO THEIR WEBSITE? I JUST SENT THEM AN E-MAIL INFORMING THEM OF SITCOMSONLINE, AND TELLING THEM WHAT A HUGE FACTS FAN BASE THERE IS, AND NOT TO PULL THE SHOW, IF THEY'RE EVEN CONSIDERING IT.

IT COULDN'T HURT TO LET THEM KNOW THERE ARE FACTS FANS HERE IN CHI-TOWN. :)

IF ANYONE ELSE GETS ME-TV OR COMCAST WITH FACTS, PLEASE E-MAIL THE STATION TO REQUEST THEY LEAVE FACTS ON. HECK, ASK FOR AN HOUR LONG SHOWING. WHO KNOWS, THEY DO IT FOR OTHER SHOWS!

IF ME-TV REPLIES, I'LL POSS WHAT THEY SAY.
