did not pick Rhoda up on her wedding day?-lol I haven't followed the relationship of Rhoda and Phyllis on MTM so I'm just wondering if that's why Phyllis didn't pick Rhoda Up.

BTW: Rhoda's running through the streets with a wedding dress on should be in the sitcom hall of fame

Phyllis and Rhoda didn't have a great friendship, I don't even think Phyllis was invited to Rhoda's wedding. I think Phyllis volunteered to pick Rhoda up, But then she "conveniently" forgot to pick her up. So I do think she did it on purpose.

Phyllis was always jealous of the relationship that Rhoda and Mary had.

I agree, I do think it was done on purpose, although, Phyllis was somewhat of a scatter brain.

Phyllis would not have been that cruel. She is oblivious to other's feelings. She is scattered brained. She even said it herself. I have an ep of "Phyllis" when she tries to prove a point to someone that she does have one true friend in Mary by testing Mary to see if she will come out to San Francisco without any questions. Mary does it but Phyllis tries to call back and tell her she really did not need her to come out. The line is busy. Phyllis assumes that Mary would not be that idiotic to actually do it and "forgets" to call her back again when the lines are free again. Phyllis made me mad when she did this. LOL.

I don't think Phyllis hated Rhoda THAT much...but who knows?? I wish we could have seen Rhoda give Phyllis a beat down though...THAT would've been classic.

I think so too, Phyllis really liked to give Rhoda a hard time.

I just saw the ep for the very first time. I really do think Phyllis forgot. She was so wrapped up in buying the perfect outfit, and generally butting in everywhere (no surprise there) that it slipped her mind to pick up Rhoda. Though Rhoda DID make the suggestion that Phyllis pick her up. I thought Rhoda would know better!!

One other reason I think Phyllis really did forget -- who in their right mind would do something like that on purpose and risk the wrath of Rhoda's mom Ida?? I thought she would strangle Phyllis!!

Well Atleast Rhoda had the mindset to not sit there and continue waiting-lol Most people would have never done what she did

Well said, Monika! I also don't think Phyllis was ever that devious. Sure, she and Rhoda didn't get along, but she just wouldn't do something like that on purpose. She's just REALLY scatterbrained, that's all. As for Ida, yeah, the phrase, "If looks could kill" does come to mind! ;)

haha, I did see an old Phyllis promo a while back where Mary is there and she says "I flew out here from Minneapolis to be here with you because you said you needed me and I want to know now, Phyllis! Right now!" Now I know where that came from.

The announcer said "Phyllis gets it from Mary!" LOL

OH Nuts!

I think she did it on purpose too. Phyllis was very passive-aggressive and VERY SELF-CENTERED. She had some nerve coming to NYC to the wedding when she wasn't invited. And then to forget to pick up the bride. There are some things YOU JUST DON'T FORGET. 99.9% of the time Phyllis was full of sh*t. They should have banned Phyllis from the wedding--she was a character I truly did not care for.

I wonder why Mary, Lou and Murray were unable to stop Phyllis from coming along - they all knew Rhoda couldn't stand her!!

Somewhat related...I just watched the MTM episode "Rhoda Morgenstern, Minneapolis to New York" (in honor of the announcement of the first season of "Rhoda" on DVD :-)) and wondered why Phyllis was NOT at Rhoda's going-away party. Hmmmmmmm.....

/But now I know where Georgette first appeared!

Ida even said to Phyllis, "I'll kill you!" while looking like she was going into cardiac arrest. Who could blame Ida? She was waiting for this day longer than anybody, including Rhoda!

Thats one of the reasons why Ted and SueAnn weren't at the wedding. There is no way the audience could deal with 3 obnoxious people, on such a joyous occasion.

Plus, there would have been some serious akwardness or tension between Phyllis and Sue Ann due to the affair Sue Ann had with Lars. Keep the chocolate fondue away from Phyllis. LOL.

In an episode of "Phyllis," she forgets to pick up Mother Dexter for her wedding and she is upset about forgetting. She even references the Rhoda incident. Here is a link to a Youtube clip.

I'm sure Rhoda would've warned Mother Dexter and given her the whole play by play of her own experience!!
