Are you sure that the chapter skips are back for this season? For some strange reason, there weren't any chapter stops in the third season set (it was a change from the second season, which had four chapter stops per episode)! :confused:

Also, it seems that the episodes run shorter. The episodes in the first two seasons were 23-24 minutes in length; in season three, they ran for 22-23 minutes... but for this season, they only run for 22 minutes! Is it possible that these are syndicated copies?

What?! (looks at times) Every one of them runs 23 rounded up, and not only that, but most of them are so close they might as well be 23 minutes - a few seconds off.

I guess it's like my mom sees something for "19.99 and says "it's $19."

As for the length of time, remember that TV is constantly changing; shows were closer to 25-26 minutes in the '50s, then 24-25. Now, though I haven't watched new network shows in years, it's closer to 21 than 22. Advertisers are forever trying to squeeze more ads in, because declining revenues means the networks need to schedule more and more ads to pay for the shows.

The late '80s/early '90s saw a huge influx of cable channels, and many more people turning to cable. This forced networks to start cutting time off of shows in their first run airings to make up for the lost viewers (and hence lost revenue.) In fact, ISTR specifically around this time hearing that they were cutting shows back from 24 to 22 minutes.

So, these are still the unedited versions, I called and asked WHV myself weeks ago. It's just that FH aired at a time when the market was really changing.

As a long time Full HOuse fan, who was VERY upset when she read that Full House was being cancelled after its 8th season, I feel ripped off because we have NO special features - no montage of "The Jesse and Becky Love story", no bloopers, no commentaries, no fun facts, nothing.

On another note, I am not sure where to get full house 4th season dvd (I'll buy it anyway cause Nick @ Nite has basically dropped full house off its "nite" schedule to 4:30 AM weekday mornings. :rolleyes:

Target has it for $22.99, but I think that's not a "Sale price". Circuit City has it in their ad for $21.99. I think Best Buy has it for $22.99, too.

I know people are disappointed in no special features and extras on Full House Season 4 DVD, but let me just say that I am very happy to see Season 4 on DVD. I have always liked Full House ever since I was a kid. I remember when it first aired. To be honest with you, I mostly watch the episodes on the DVD more than the extras. I already ordered Season 4 and am hoping to get it Tuesday. I am also looking foward to the next 4 DVD's to come out. So I give the review of Season 4 DVD an A plus.

I watch the episodes more, too. I just wish there had been something like one commentary. That's my favorite feature on my Simpson DVDs - the commentaries. They are so interesting to listen to. I would love to have had a commentary for the "Wedding" episodes.

Oh well, I'll get Season 4 anyway.

What I find interesting is that in most episodes, they do add little things so I can tell it's the uncut versions, but unless I was hearing things, in "Crimes and Michelle's Misdemeanor," Jesse in reruns says Michelle is out of control, and now he doesn't.

This *could* be in response to a letter I wrote (and suggested others write) stating how Michelle could *not* have been that out of control because no child could go without discipline till almos tage 4 and be as good as she was - she'd have been totally reckless in season 3.

They didn't add anything despite the ideas I had to explain it. *However*, by apparently cutting out one comment, they moved over a little bit more toward accepting that yes, realistically, D.J. had to have been disciplining Michelle from the time she was 2; Danny just never let her call it punishment. (Timeout of a minute per age versus 5 minutes in the corner means it's going to seem more like punishment than just timeout - that's a 67% increase, 3 up to 5 minutes.) So, while she was starting to test the limits, and D>J. let her a little so Danny could see the problem, Michelle was not as out of control.After all, she rakes the leaves right away when D.J. orders her to, and even asks in a sad voice if she's in big trouble *before* there's any hint that Danny is ready to punish her; as if she knows that tone from when D.J. would catch her doing something.

So, they might well listen to a bunch of fans who call for extras. However, even if they don't, I feel satisfied that at least they were willing to do that.

I just wish they would have had someone on *saying* that. Get a child psychologist on there for crying out loud, if none of the creators or performers is willing to talk.

P.S.: I would have enjoyed commentary from the boy who played Rusty, even though fans didn't like him so he wasn't a regular, it would have been itneresting to hear from a guest star if nothing else, commenting on all those practical jokes.

I can see that for later, but the child psychology professor I know said he's seen cases like this, and it's usually the oldest sister who handles the disicpline when the dad's too inconsistent.

Iam not very picky if theres feutures or not. Im just trying to collect all the seasons of Full House when there released. I dont know why people like to complain about this should be happy that there being out on dvd I know Iam. I havent gotten season 4 yet but hopefully this weekend when I get paid Ill get the 4th season.

I was talking about season 3, yes; and even season 2. They're not called the Terrible Twos because the kids are all Steelers fans who wave the Terrible Towel :-)

Steph turns 10 midways thought season 5, and is 8, as stated, in "The I.Q. Man, early season 4. So, Steph was just about 7 when Michelle would have been going through that stage. She would have needed D.J.'s help, at the very least, at that age, and as I said, in most families with this history, it winds up being the oldest sibling. But, not all, I admit.
