Looking through my 4 DVD seasons of TMTMS and Mary's various boyfriends,which one do you think was the best one for Mary?
I hated the Doctor guy in the pilot,I didn't think he'd have lasted 5 minutes with Mary,(he was so oily)let alone 2 years.
I liked Dan,the night school teacher,I love it when he comes back in season 3 and Mary and Rhoda go to his engagement party,and he and his new girlfriend,have a blazing row about Mary with all the people at the party,including Mary hearing every word!
I always thought there was a hope of a romance with Mary and Lou,which they tried to do something about in "Lou Dates Mary" but of course I would have hated it if they had got married in the last episode,and with Ed Asner spinning off to do "Lou Grant",they would have had to split them up pretty quickly!

I really liked Dan, he was awesome...a man's man, and a man women could easily fall for. I wished they had had him on more, maybe in a story arc or something. But he was really good.

Dan comes back one more time in Season 6. I think my fave boyfriend is the guy in "Tolouse-Lautrec." He was funny, lol. If Mary wasn't such a "height bigot," I could see those two really hitting it off. ;)

There was also Andy,the sportscaster Mary hired in season 4 and dated for a while and the date from hell Warren Sturgess(Stuart Margolin)in the hilarious episode "Romeo and Mary",love it when Mary finally loses it with Warren,in front of new boyfriend Pete and destroys his cake,which is for another girl.
There was also Paul and Howard Arnell (Richard Schaal)she loved Paul,loathed Howard.

I actually think that's a creepy episode...I dunno if I'd wanna sit through it all again. (Then again I work in the news, so I see creepy behavior a lot)

welli would have to say I always hope Lou and Mary would get it together They had great chemistry through out the series... But I guess the writers thought otherwise:confused:

I liked Dan the professor too. He was probably the best choice, but I think she should have picked Wes Callison. Wouldnt that have been an interesting choice, And she seemed to really like him, more in the first episode than the second

I think Hendy Winkley played one of Mary Boyfriends.
