As me, my mom and my brother were about to turn into our driveway after running errands, we saw our cat, Phoebe, lying on the road just outside our house. She was run over and there was blood all around her. We carried her into our driveway and I ran inside to tell my dad, and he said that Phoebe had been in the house only a couple of minutes earlier to have some milk :crying: About 5 minutes after we found her, the person who ran her over walked up to us and she apologized. It turns out that she lives near us and she'd often pet Phoebe as she would be walking through the woman's back yard. She seemed upset about it too.
We only had her a year, and she was so adorable :( I'll really miss her :crying:
Here's a blend of her that I made a couple of months ago

Awwwww! Phoebe was a really beautiful cat, too. I am so sorry. :bighug:

I actually had a cat that was run over and killed by a car eight years ago, in July of 1998. He was only 3 years old then.

Geez... I'm teary-eyed right now. She really was pretty. :(

My Cat Just Died

I really feel your pain. Unfortunately, I know all too well what it's like to lose a pet that way. 18 years ago, my father accidentally killed my cat who was nine years old at the time of her death. I was 16 back then. I know my father didn't kill her on purpose, but what really sucks is this: After he hit her, she was still alive, still breathing, but mortally wounded. She was suffering and he couldn't even be bothered to bring her to the vet to be put to sleep and put out of her misery. You know what he did? He drove her to the local landfill (the dump) and left her there.
I didn't know what happened to her at first, so I just thought she was missing. I went around the neighborhood like a fool in search of my cat. I was shaking her can of kitty treats and calling her name out like a dummy. The whole time she was dead and I didn't even know it.
How did I find out what really happened? Well, I was in the hallway of my house and I heard my mother and father whispering. My mother told my father that the neighbor saw my father run over the cat and she was demanding to know the truth. Finally, my father confessed to killing my cat. I was so grief-stricken that I fell to the floor and started screaming. I still remember what I was wearing that day. I was wearing a peach colored tee-shirt and denim shorts. The day before I was wearing a pink "Champion" sweat-shirt and I remember how my kitty was still alive and cuddling to me that day. When I got up, I had her gray fur all over my sweat-shirt. Anyway, I am still not over the whole thing. I understand that her death was an accident. I forgive that. What I don't forgive is the utter indifference and lack of compassion that my father displayed towards my cat's life. He should have taken her to the vet. He shouldn't have been sneaky. He shouldn't have lied. I'll resent him forever for that and it's almost twenty years later.
Anyway, my cat's name was Frodo like "Frodo" from Lord of the Rings.
