you no what i was just thinking to myself, wouldn't have been cool to hear in the later seasons of good times original theme song to the group chic musical version of there dico hit Good Times, that would have been cool if they could have replace the original song with there version

The irony is that Chic's "Good Times" was a hit in the summer of 1979, just as the TV show's run was ending.
It was also the group's last big hit.

Like Dr. Thong already pointed out, the song CAME OUT AFTER, so how could they use the song for a theme?

Amazingly so, Chic's song was actually #1 on both the R&B and Pop charts on the same day that "Good Times" aired its final episode, August 1, 1979, according to my earlier post about songs hitting the charts and the Billboard magazine charts.
