I am hoping somebody out there can help me. Christina Marie Williams was a beautiful 13 year old girl who was abducted and murdered in my area (Monterey, CA) in 1998. There was good leads in the case (sketches and eye witnesses) but nothing came of them.

I have searched google and I can't find anything new at all. It seems like authorities have just plain given up. Does anybody out there have any tips how I can find new info on this case.

I'd hate for these cowards never to get punished for this crime.

Thanks

She was abducted by two hispanic males supposedly, but the car has probably long been demolished and the two males are most likely gang members who killed her due to an initiation rite. They are probably in jail for another crime or have left the country. I dont believe any DNA evidence has been made public, but that would be the key to solving this case. Her parents maintained a website for her which I believe is still running, so you could check there. I personally do not think this case will be solved. Too much time has gone by and the witnesses are probably not even aware of the case or willing to talk

Thanks for your input. However I choose to be a little more positive about the prospects of it being solved than you. We definately have gang problems in this area (Salinas), but these two were seen around Seaside leading up to the crime and there was a very similar botched crime North of here right before it happened.

Of course we would like to see the case solved, and many times cases have been solved decades later. However, eight years have gone by and my concern is that this case will become like the Amber Swartz case and the Michaela Garecht case and just disappear from everyone's minds. I wonder if these two suspects were involved in other disappearances. I do recall the botched abduction they were associated with, but Im not sure if they are suspected in any others. I still maintain that the DNA evidence should be checked against all jailed prisoners in California, because chances are they are incarcerated if they are still in the state. I wonder if theres a law that makes all prisoners required to give a DNA sample once they enter the prison system. If not, there should be! Anyone know about this?

Lets also consider a point. Those suspects are probably now in their 30s and probably do not look anything like the sketches that were being used. That means unless they talk in jail or someone decides to come clean ( doubtful) we may never know what happened to this innocent girl.:(
