hey i think that i dream of jeannie is hott and sexy, but i have two question to asked you, concerning both dvd color and black an white, which dvd's do you like watching better black an white or the colored version, and are they both showing all of the original deleted scenes that was not shown in syndication, i have to give sony pictures credit, they do believe in putting old shows like jeannie and bewitched in color, i wish they could put the twilght zone in color if they owned it, is the colored version of i dream of jeannie digitially remastered later

...in the first season, so I'm sort of prejudiced. I like the color in the "colorized edition", but there are nuances in the original monochrome episodes that don't appear in the "reconstituted edition". If only Sidney Sheldon had convinced executive Jerry Hyams of Screen Gems that the extra $300-400 an episode he was willing to pay for filming each first season episode in color was necessary. "Save your money", Hyams told Sheldon. Of course, when ALL prime-time converted to color on the three TV networks in 1966, Hyams HAD to use the extra money. Still, I like the first season in black & white. It was the LAST NBC situation comedy in that 1965-'66 season to be filmed that way.

To answer about the syndicated version vs full version:

I've watched BOTH seasons, and have seen many, many scenes that I do not have on my VHS tapes (taped from TV). Like the commercial Columbia House VHS tapes from a few years back, these are full version shows. Each episode lasts about 25 minutes.

Nowadays, shows run 22 minutes plus commercials for a 30 minute block. One hour block shows used to run 52 minutes, now they run 47 minutes.
