Hey guys, what's up, I just remembered something; Anyone remember when N@N would alwyas skip this episode?- Even though it's like the highest rated episode of FOL ever!

I nevere got why they always skipped it. It's not that bad, especially the way nick airs their shows, UGH. They would have edited it to all hell anyway. They air pot smoking episodes of Roseanne, I mean, Come on people!

Anyway, does anyone else remember N@N airing this ep like 2x in the whole year it was there?

Nick didn't air this episode? I didn't remember that. They are weird sometimes. It's rather innocent as far as first time episodes go so it doesn't really make that much sense.

I loved this episode, I don't understand why some TV networks skipped it. They was a warning in the begining of the episode (I believe) and it's not like they actually "shooowed her" All they did was discuss the after math, which helps teens! I know it helped me. :) I feel it is a very important episode.

you know... i think this was back in the day of NaN's innocent days... back waaaaaaaaay before roseanne... when they still aired shows like I Love Lucy and the Brady Bunch. They skipped a LOT of episodes becuase of content. Now adays if FOL was on NaN i am willing to bet they would play those episodes first becuase they seem to realize that those episodes are highly watched.. i see the fresh prince episode where carlton loses his virginity to a lady who was actually married and just lonely a MILLION times and even stometimes when it's not aired in order. I have also seen the episode of Roseanne where becky asks her mom if they can go get her some birth control and where she is sooo sure that darlene had sex with david after the prom and really david just had performance anxiety... i think they ended up having sex later in the episode. Those episodes have played a LOT! and also other contraversial things... or things that FOL covered that they considered contraversial.

But anyways.... it really was a different time when FOL was on NaN... i think it was just a matter of thinking that a lot of kids watched the show (which they did... becuase in the days of FOL on NaN i remember a TON of 9-11 year olds on the board, at the time i was 14 myself) and they just wanted to make sure that they didn't give kids the wrong idea...

I myself think they handled this episode a little badly. They should really have done this one with mrs. garrett around... I think that she really would have kept her business out if natalie didn't want her to know... but beverly ann was all in her face about what happened and if they were safe and was just snide about it, even though natalie was definately old enough to make her own decisions and possibly mistakes... she was what, 21ish! But, i hated the whole pippa wanting to know all about sex and then sticking her nose in natalie's business and then also the whole thing with snake needing to think... the guy who played snake was actually on Fast Times at Ridgemont High where his character slept with a lot of girls and they even showed him in the sex scenes... so i thought it was funny that he was being so gentleman like in the show ;)

Ok i'm done rambling!

I know that "First Time" was rated highly, but I thought "Graduation" was the highest rated episode of the series?

I think "First Time" was an okay episode, but it is not one of my favorites. I guess this is because I am not a big fan of the Nat-Snake relationship.

Someone should upload this episode. I keep on hearing about it, but I've never seen it.

METV in Chicago aired this episode uncut and with the original NBC parental warning about the muture nature of the episode. Most of their shows were cut to the syndicated 22 minutes but for some reason 5 shows went 24+ minutes.

I don't think it was really an NBC warning, but was put on the beginning of the show by the producers. If I recall, the lettering was in the same font as the credits.

My thoughts about the virginity episode: If there were a parental guidance warning before the episode, it would not be PG-raed at all. I mean, the plot about Natalie having premarital sex. I have seen the episode in its original airing, but I refused to see it in reruns, and I therefore can;t remember what the episode was like. I wonder what the TV wating ras the last time that episode was reran. If only someone provided me with a recaoof this episode.

Brair didn't want to appear in this episode since her portrayer was a born-again Christian. Mindy Cohn should sacrifice her character for any objectionable storyline.

Why do controversial episodes like this even get high ratings, anyway?

this may be overstated but to me the whole ep looked like a last ditch attempt at raising ratings pure and simple and it also was not written very well
