I could have sworn that Charlotte Rae played Mrs. Hannigan in Annie on stage, but I don't see it anywhere in her IMDB. Anyone know more?

View Full Version : Charlotte Rae in Annie?? sarah2112 08-01-2006, 06:45 PM I could have sworn that Charlotte Rae played Mrs. Hannigan in Annie on stage, but I don't see it anywhere in her IMDB. Anyone know more? MrsGarrettRocksMySocks 08-02-2006, 11:33 PM I remember reading it, somewhere, too. try www.ibdb.com--The internet Broadway Database. You might have to look at the "replacements," though. And if she didn't play Miss Hannigan on BROADWAY (which, I don't think it was), you could try "www.iobdb.com" the Interent OFF-Broadway Database.:) sarah2112 08-04-2006, 12:07 PM Thank you, I will check that out. I'd love to see her as Ms. Hannigan! From caring, loving Mrs. Garrett to mean Mrs. Hannigan! What a contrast! Tootie 08-04-2006, 02:36 PM I just sold that movie. FOL85NatandMrsGRock 08-04-2006, 05:13 PM i dont think it's the movie version they are talking about, just a play she performed in sarah2112 08-04-2006, 06:04 PM Carol Burnett was in the 80's movie, Kathy Bates in the more recent movie. I believe I heard that Charlotte Rae was in the stage version in the late 70's or early 80's. julian bozo 08-06-2006, 04:54 AM Tomorrow,Tomorrow,Tomorrow, I love you your only a day away. I love Annie and the Facts of Life. I would have loved to see it. I wish I could have seen it . I wasn't even born until 1980. I can imagine Charlotte Rae being funny. There are two other Annie Facts of Life connections in episodes can't remember which ones, In a Halloween episode Kelly is dressed like Annie. As Annie was real big in the 80's because the movie was released. In another episode where Beverly Ann is trying to adopt Andy, Blair says something about poor Andy in a orphange and starts singing Tomorrow.I have seen Annie 4 times at different playhouses and 1 time on broadway. I own both the 80's and 99 versions and I own Facts of Life seasons 1 and 2 on dvd. sarah2112 08-15-2006, 12:11 AM Here are two more FOL/Annie connections: Molly Ringwald starred in the stage version. The artist who created the comic strip originally titled the cartoon Little Orphan Andy. He tried to pitch the comic to an editor, who said there were already too many boy comic heros. The artist changed the comic to Annie. So, Andy in the orphanage had that connection. |
