Why didn't the Judy Cohen story make sense? Was it because it focused on a White Woman? I'm not understanding why you said it didn;t make sense

Good Times DID NOT come from All In The Family. The only common thing the two shows had was that it was produced by Norman Lear.

Also, your post is jumbled together with all kinds of subjects, I don't know where it ends and where it begins...

The episode was offensive because we had to actually listen to Judy Cohen sing! lol

I don't remember any controversy involving Good Times during the 1970's other than the gripes among the actors. People get offended to much anymore. I think it would be difficult for AITF to get made today.

When the show first started there was a lot of controversy because Florida was a Housewife in the Projects-lol Info came from 1974 Jet Mag

I don't think there would be any controversy today. Probably just from Bill Cosby opening that big mouth of his complaining as usual.

After all the UPN sitcoms that came out, nobody should criticize anything on Good Times.

Exactly! If that skank and piece of trash singer EVE can have a show of her own, then anyone can.

Actually, Good Times was a spin-off from Maude, which was a spin-off from All in the Family, so Good Times did come from All In The Family. Florida was Maude's maid on the show Maude, and Maude was Edith's cousin on All In The Family.

Uhhh, Ok, I don't know what you guy's definition of a spin-off is, but the character of Florida Evans originated on Maude, not Good Times. The only difference is, on Maude, Florida's husband's name was Henry Evans instead of James Evans.
Anyhow, here's WEBSTER'S difinition of what a spin-off is: Pay verrrrrry close attention to definition #3:

Oh and here are some links to some people who probably know a tad bit more about TV than the experts who post here, and, HARK, THEY ALL LIST GOOD TIMES AS A SPIN-OFF FROM MAUDE!

We (the rest of us here) have been thru this argument many, many, many times. I will make it short and sweet. ERIC MONTE, the creator of Good Times, stated in an article that has been posted here twice whereas he says: GOOD TIMES IS NOT A SPIN-OFF. Norman Lear took Eric's idea and molded the show to HIS liking. I won't go into another debate with you or anyone else.

BTW, those two links re: Wikipedia and IMDB are only sites where people (like you and me) who are members can add/edit info. So, basically, anyone who thinks they know some info, and they are a member, can put that info on those sites. Many people here on this forum add info to those sites all the time.

That was NOT nice. Why do you say Eve is a piece of trash? She's doing her thing and making bank, which is probably more than anyone of us on this board can say.

I have two businesses, so I make enough bank and then some without resorting to what Eve did by having started out by appearing at "stripper parties" and allowing women to do things to me in front of a bunch of stupid guys and allow someone to photograph that incident and have it appear and then try to deny it. She did it, so she should admit it, not be a coward.
UPN went down the tubes when that show was allowed on the air.
I will not get into an argument on what she did. That was stupid on her part and she should just ADMIT IT.
I would rather watch the Judy Cohen Story than watch Eve.
