What do you guys consider to be some of the worst wrestling gimmicks ever?? There have been many bad ones in every organization, but I have to say, the one that stands out to me as the absolute worst, was when the WCW introduced The Shocmaster back in 1993. :lol: I remember laughing my ass off when he made his debut, and he tripped, as his stupid little storm trooper mask came flying off. Ha ha ha ha!!! That was definitely the most pathetic debut I have ever seen in my life!! Here's a picture of him, as well as a video of him tripping when he made his debut. This is freaking hilarious!! :lol:

Actually, the Shockmaster, was Fred Ottman aka Tugboat & Typhoon in the WWE.

Tugboat by the way was a really stupid gimmick, but I got plenty more. lol

Now as far as lame Gimmicks you have to include The GobbleyGooker in this one along with The Blue Blazer

Another stupid gimmick was the Gobbledygooker a wrestling Turkey!!! It's true. The Gooker was played by Hector Guerrero. (The older brother of Eddie Guerrero)

Another stupid gimmick was Outback Jack. He was the WWE's answer to the "Crocodile Dundee" craze of the late 1980's. He hailed from Humpty Doo, Austrailia.

I think The Undertaker got silly after a while. How many times did he die?

I watched it somewhat int the 80s, back in the days of Jimmy Snuka, Bob Backlund, Iron Sheik, Tito Santana, etc.

It was somewhat fun to follow, but I was/am an obsessed football fan and really didnt have much consideration for --hides-- scripted sports.

Nowdays it seems there is almost no fun in it since the whole sport is watered down with a million wrestlers and a million plotlines.

And I just can't suspend disbelief enough to enjoy it or take it on its own terms.

In response to the infamous baseball strike of 1994, Vince Mcmahon created a "heel" baseball wrester named Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz. He was played by Steve Lomardi better known to WWE fans as "The Brooklyn Brawler."

In a ladder match, there is an object about 10-15 feet in the air. Usually a belt. Th e object is to climb the ladder and get the object. I prefer the Hell in a Cell match.

Ahmed's gimmick was supposed to be a bouncer type of guy from Pearl River, Mississippi. As a wrestler, he wasn't that bad, it was his gimmick that sucked. I think Skinner wins this contest. McMahon had him play a crocodile hunter which is ironic because in real life, Steve Keirns was a crocodile hunter and won several awards.

Old school? Growing up in New York way back when had wrestling on every night of the week. Sunday with Jules Strongbow came from California and featured Georgous George, Baron Leone, Kola Kwariani, Wilburr Snyder, a young Freddy Blassie, Wild Red Barry etc. Thursday night was from Capital Arena, Jimmy Lake announcing and featuring Anotinio Rocca and his feuds with Karl Von Hess and Dr. Jerry Graham. One night was from the Sportatorium in Texas, run by the Von Eric family, also featuring Dory and Terry Funk. Friday was from New Jersey, had Skull Murphy, Brute Bernard, The Sicilians, among others.

My favorite night as a kid was saturday night as I was allowed to stay up to 10:00, as the old Dumont station had with Jack Brickhouse announcing, wrestling from the Amphtheater in Chicago. Saw Yukon Eric, Killer Kowalski, The Mighty Atlas, Farmer Gray, Benito Gardini and my favorites, Art Neilson and Reggie Lisowski.

My favorite wrestler was the original Shiek. He knew how to get the crowd riled. With his pointed boot, fire thumb, plastic fork, camel trot, he gave the crowd their money's worth. Classic battles against Bobo Brazil and his cocoa butt.

Was listening to some shoot interviews of the old time wrestlers. They came out of character and told of the old days. Brought back some fond memories.

Saturday had the roller derby on tv. Plenty of mindless entertainment in those days. Little has changed.
