Was that opening Theme CRAZY or what?-lol I know for a fact N@N or TV LAND never played that opening theme when airing season 7. The strange thing was that the ODD OPENING THEME wasn't on the 3rd ep, just the 1st, 2nd and now the 4th. Not sure if it was during the entire season on ABC.

That alternate theme song is presented on the first seven episodes (with the exception of "Diamond Jack" like you mentioned). I didn't like it. The season six version is much, much better, IMO.

They might have filmed that episode after the others and just aired it earlier.

When I first heard it I knew for a fact that it wasn't a Theme I heard before-lol

I hated it. I listened to it twice and that was enough for me. I don't know what they were thinking when they decided to mess around with the theme song. :lol:

I have had that on my website for quite some time. Though, the quality wasn't that good since it was from original airing. I made the opening again from the DVD for much better quality. I call that the "saucier" theme.

Syndication has never used that opening, but the closing theme for that version airs in syndication for those 7 episodes.

While we're on the subject of the opening, it's quite obvious that some of the opening & closing credit shots were re-done because Jenilee was no longer on the show. If you notice, Joyce's hair is a little longer and the gang is posing in different positions on the trolley and walking around the zoo.

There is a short version of the saucier opening theme that has been used in syndication and even on ABC. I saw it last night on TV Land.In the 90s,TBS and WFLD ch 32 in Chicago showed this short version as well.
I have a few season 8 episodes on tape from the summer of 1984 on ABC and one of the episodes used the short version of the saucier season 7 theme,while the rest used the longer season 7/8 opening theme.

The font in the closing credits was a little different as well(maybe because of the move to Metromedia Square?). Part one of the closing had a closer shot of the trolley. Part two had a much longer shot of the zoo entrance.
