It would make sense given the release schedule of the first two seasons. Season one came out in March, season two in July. If they keep up that pattern, November would actually be the next most likely month! That would certainly brighten the holiday season.

I have to give Sony credit for releasing these in a timely manner, as opposed to MGM--which is taking their merry time releasing Green Acres!

Where did you read that? Sounds good. Well, Bewitched S4 is coming in Oct, so it might be a good sign.

Does anyone know how much of an investment has to made in these DVD sets by the distributor and how many sales are needed to make it worthwhile? It would seem to me that something like IDOJ would not require a huge, huge investment and that even comparatively mediocre sales would still turn a decent profit....

Yeah, I noticed that, but the posting with that Dec. date was dated on 7/20. The Poor Sales posting, which is more recent, was dated on 8/11.

There's still lots of time for Sony to announce season 3 of 'I Dream of Jeannie' DVD release. There may be word in October if it plans to be a December release.

Here, Here. There's always a chance for IDOJ S3 to come out on DVD, though I can't count on it to be released in Dec. Well, we'll just have to wait and see if that happens then.

There's no doubt that Season 3 will be released. They have yet to announce the big movie of IDOJ. That alone secures Season 3 because of the cross-promotion. I think we will definitely see Season 3 on dvd.

I think it is coming out on January 30th, 2007. I'm guessing this is the announcement we will be getting from Sony this Monday. At least, I hope so. It has the great 4-parter on it. :)

Well, one announcement expected is season 6 of All in the Family. But if this is the case, this would be a "double-Hagman" day. Season 6 of Dallas is being released January 30, 2007 as well.

So it's now available to preorder from Amazon although TVShowsOnDVD.com hasn't officially announced it yet which I'm sure they will in a few days tops. Got the link from www.comingSoon.net/dvd and went under Jan '07. And I've already preordered mine.

It will be double-Hagman day, then, because Amazon has them available for preorder....January 30th is the date.

A couple of months ago, Bob Newhart had a Triple-Newhart day. His book, his stand-up DVD, and the 4th season of The Bob Newhart Show were all released on the same day...September 19th, I believe it was. I got the TBNS right away, but waited for the book and DVD because he came to San Diego and did a book signing.

I Dream of Jeannie: The Complete Second Season has a run time of approximately 624 minutes and is not rated.

The show started getting a little crazy by the third season, but season three has the great four part episode and that alone is worth the price of admission.

I loved the third season a lot more than the second season, though I think my favorites are mostly in the first and fifth seasons.

However, you are exactly right about the 4-part "safe eps" inclusion in this season. Several years ago I decided to get the Columbia House VHS tape of the 4-parter. I think I paid about $25 for it on eBay. That's about what we'll pay for the entire season on DVD!

I'm excited about the release of season 3, and hope that they'll include extras with seasons 4 and 5. Larry and Bill have both expressed willingness to do them - but they DO want to be paid for that (can you blame them!? They get no residuals from the show at all any more, really...only indirectly). I think it's Sony that's holding back on the extras....
