I don't care for the Olive Garden, the only thing that I like on their menu is their Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip.

I'd rather go to an authentic Italian restaurant instead of the Olive Garden. The food is decent, but every time we go we have to wait so long.

It's ok for what it is...a mass franchise faux-Italian restaurant.

One of my favorite foods is deep-fried ravioli (sp?), and Olive Garden is about the only place around Toledo that sells good ones...

Plus, it's fairly cheap for a decent Americanized Italian...

If I want more authentic Italian, I love Caberra's and Macaroni Grill, but since they're kinda more expensive, and I'm a teacher lol...

I dont like it either. I love Italian being Italian myself, but there are much better places. Especially local ones.

I got pissed off when I went in for Manicotti and they didnt have it anymore. I also like smooth red sauce, and theirs isn't.

Other than the breadsticks and the salad (which aren't even EXCELLENT, they're just okay) I don't really like the restaurant too much...All of the authentic Italian restaurants (there's one I like going to every time I visit my relatives in PA that's really good) have been much better. But Olive Garden's not terrible, IMO, just not that great. I also think Red Lobster is overrated, because the food is so terribly overpriced--you can just make your own seafood on the grill or whatever for much less. But that's a different thread. ;)

I've only been to the Olive Garden once, but I really enjoyed the food there (I had a pizza.) I also liked the look of the restaurant; it seemed quite pretty.

The publicity gets annoying after awhile. There are plenty of restaurants that are better than Olive Garden but it's really not a bad restaurant at all. Most of the time, the food is good, it's just that the food takes awhile for whatever reason.

I actually like it, but I agree that there are far more better Italian restaurants.

It's my favorite restaurant, but I get what people are saying. My friend and I went and she got eggplant, and it wasn't very good. For what I always get - some sort of alfredo, whether it be seafood or chicken - it's excellent. I'm Italian and I love real Italian food, but it's still my favorite restaurant. I do agree that the commercials are way overplayed though.

I hate their salad. Italian dressing is nasty.

And yeah, we were quoted an 80 minute wait once. Ridiculous.

I've been to Olive Garden in Times Square and ordered a VERY LARGE plateful of Spaghetti and Lobster. I was not able to eat the entire plate because it is too excessive. I have not been back since Season 1998-1999

Maybe this is the Italian side of me talking, but if you're going to go to an Italian restaurant, don't go to a chain like Olive Garden, where the food is mass-produced and pre-prepared.

You're much better off going somewhere local, where more care is put into the preparation of the food and into the ambience of the restaurant itself.

You are definitely not alone. The Olive Garden sucks. It is a fake Italian restaurant. All chain restaurants that proclaim to have "Italian" food are fake. I live in New York, and I know that the best Italian food comes from an original, family business type place called Joe's or something. There are also some fancy Italian restaurants in Manhattan that are excellent! Olive Garden's food tastes like poo. And their commercials make me sick.

I have never been to an Olive Garden, but I would like to try it out.

I think it's the look and the environment, not necessarily the food. It's supposed to make it look "nice" to attract people like a subliminal message.

yeah, we got a local place called Cafe Davanzo, it is a lot better than Olive Garden. Also my Aunt Mary's food is the best.
