So many songs new and old get overplayed on the radio. One major reason I have satellite radio. I love oldies stations and R&B/Dance/Soul stations, however, on free radio the oldies stations overplay BEACH BOYS music. They seem to repeat the same ol' oldies music.
On the R&B / hip-hop stations they just burn out music so fast, it makes me never want to hear it again. My God, that song by Nelly HOT IN HEEEERE was soooo overplayed. right now, the new song by Nelly Furtado is getting played a lot. I love this song, but pretty soon, it will be BURNED OUT.

Thank God for satellite radio. And burned CD's.

No radio for me anymore!
Not only do they overplay everything, the commercials last an eternity.
I'll play my own commercial free music, thank you! :)

The jobsite I have been working latelty has lots of radios playing. Most of them are on some sort of "classic rock" station. It's impossible to tell the staions apart because ALL of the stations play the same tired old songs over again. Songs like:

"Sweet Home Alabama" - Lynard Skynard The most overplayed song in the format. Seriously, every day they play this song. Why?

"Rock and Roll" - Led Zeppelin. So many other great Zep songs in the catalog, and they have to beat this one over our heads.
Runner up: Stairway To Heaven, another song that must go away.

"Jack And Diane" - John Cougar. I don't give a crap what happens to Jack and Diane anymore.

"Born To Be Wild" - Steppenwolf. Get your motor running, yadda yadda yadda...

"Money" - Pink Floyd. Another great band that has a bajillion songs, yet this is the song they have to play; usually right after one of thier annoying morning guys gives away cash to the tenth caller.
Runner up: Another Brick In The Wall Part 2

"Foxy Lady" - Jimi Hendrix. Yeah, he died young, I know, but I hate this song now.

Iam so happy I got Sirius Radio no commercials at all sure you gotta pay $12.95 a month but its worth it if you can afford it. To me what used to got overplayed on one of our country channels was Carrie Underwood.

The pop (poop) stations are REALLY over-playing "Over My Head" by The Fray, "What's Left of Me" by Nick Lachey and Paris Hilton's God awful song "Stars Are Blind." I HATE those songs!

That song 'Bad Day' by Daniel Powdter (sp?) plays a little too much for my liking. I have to hear it about 50 times a day at work

So many radio stations play the same old tunes nowadays. I can't even remember the last time I listened to the radio. When I want to listen to music I usually put on a CD in my player or in the car to listen to while driving. I don't like radio. There's always too many advertisements on the stations and they always play the same old tunes over and over. I get sick of the radio pretty fast.

I hear ya. Here in the Bay Area we have an oldies station, where it seems everytime you turn it on its either CCR or the Supremes. I'm sorry, but I've heard enough of the badmoonrisinoutmybackdoorstopinthenameoflove, over and over ad nauseam. I too like my ipod, as someone stated, plus the audiobooks and free podcasts you can put on it. I almost never listen to music on the radio anymore.
