TV Knowledge Fan 08-02-2006, 01:32 PM Now that SONY controls the rights to "GREEN ACRES" (and the contract to show it on TV LAND has ended after a decade), they can "shop it around" anywhere they wish...and the "i" network has "first dibs" on any "contemporary" show from the SONY TV library....so, it'll be on "i" beginning this month. Don't expect to see the same "videoprints" TV LAND aired...and no original "closing credits", either!
:tv:
Mrs. Periwinkle 08-02-2006, 05:55 PM Does anyone know if the "i" episode cut out parts of episodes like TVLand does? (Besides closing credits.) Thank you!
Speaking of G.A., I wonder when/if season four's going to be released? They seem to be putting a year or so between releases, argh!

Pavan 08-09-2006, 04:36 PM AMERICA’S LAUGH-OUT-LOUD CLASSICS, “MAMA’S FAMILY” AND “GREEN ACRES,” DEBUT ON i IN AUGUST
The Network Treats Viewers to Two Saturday Marathons This Month
(West Palm Beach, FL – August 9, 2006) – The laughs are on i with the network’s summer debut of two classic TV hits, “Mama’s Family” and “Green Acres,” launching this month with a three-hour marathon of “Mama’s Family” on Saturday, August 12th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
Starting, Monday, August 14th, the i network will begin airing back-to-back episodes of “Mama’s Family” every Monday to Thursday at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. “Mama’s Family” stars Vicki Lawrence as the outspoken gray-haired matriarch of a Southern, eternally squabbling family living under one roof. The show debuted in 1983 as a spin-off of the popular skit "The Family” from “The Carol Burnett Show.”
Also launching on Monday, August 14th, “Green Acres” will air every Monday to Friday at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT. The i network will treat viewers to a special “Green Acres” marathon on Saturday, August 26th from 8:00 – 11:00 p.m. ET/PT. The series, which debuted in 1965 as a spin-off to “Petticoat Junction,” stars Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor as a high-rolling New York City couple who decides to get closer to nature by taking up residence on a 160-acre rundown farm in Hooterville, U.S.A.
The i network is available in more than 90 million homes via local broadcast stations, cable and satellite. For more information, visit www.ionline.tv.

eng51squad51 08-22-2006, 09:46 AM Now that SONY controls the rights to "GREEN ACRES" (and the contract to show it on TV LAND has ended after a decade), they can "shop it around" anywhere they wish...and the "i" network has "first dibs" on any "contemporary" show from the SONY TV library....so, it'll be on "i" beginning this month. the I shows the end credit with the MGM LOGO along with the Sony Logo and TVLAND show the end credit with the Orion logo.
Scoobiedoo30 08-22-2006, 10:40 AM This is really Awsome News that TV Land has Renewed Green Acres for 3 More Year's
TV Knowledge Fan 08-22-2006, 06:13 PM ...I haven't seen any of the "i" broadcasts of "GREEN ACRES" yet, but I'm quite sure they're edited for time a bit differently than the old "Orion videoprints" that are still on TV LAND. Odd that BOTH channels are showing it at the same time! I suppose TV LAND will keep showing theirs for the next three years, while "i" runs the "new improved" edition (with "altered closing credits", so "i" can promote their other shows on the other side of the screen!!).
:tv:
cmcb06 08-22-2006, 09:25 PM Maybe some brainiac can record the whole series on i, than start selling it as the rare limited edition i new closing credits edition hehe.
GrandGame1440 08-24-2006, 08:52 PM Not worth watching there, "i" network speeds up the entire show.
Jack1000 08-25-2006, 09:36 AM Now that SONY controls the rights to "GREEN ACRES" (and the contract to show it on TV LAND has ended after a decade), they can "shop it around" anywhere they wish...and the "i" network has "first dibs" on any "contemporary" show from the SONY TV library....so, it'll be on "i" beginning this month. Don't expect to see the same "videoprints" TV LAND aired...and no original "closing credits", either!
:tv:
At least we can hope for cleaner prints of "I Didn't Raise My Pig To Be A Soilder." and "A Star Named Arnold is Born." TV Land was forced to use 16mm back up prints of these episodes and, to put it mildly, the quality looks like they came out of Hooterville's Film School! hahaha! (At least I have the first 3 season DVD's!) What do you mean by "No original closing credits?" Does "I Network" cut in with promotional comming up next stuff during the theme song?! That sucks! But at least fans are getting Green Acres!
Jack
kooky12 08-25-2006, 10:02 AM By speeding up the episodes, do they show it uncut ? Or do they speed it up AND cut it up ?
Scoobiedoo30 09-03-2006, 03:21 PM I am enjoying reen Acres on Ther I Network
Pavan 03-15-2007, 12:54 PM Green Acres will be off the ION line-up starting April 2:
http://www.sitcomsonline.com/blog/2007/03/ion-televison-april-schedule-sees-alice.html
kooky12 03-16-2007, 09:05 AM It'll be interesting to watch Alice at triple speed !
Scoobiedoo30 03-21-2007, 06:13 PM what is Triple Speed Mean
kooky12 03-23-2007, 12:26 PM It seems to me, that the i network increases the running speed of its shows, at least some of them. If you listen to the Green Acres intro song on the DVD, and then the airing on i network, you can tell the difference. When they play the shows faster, they can put in more commercials.
