I don't go around sniffing them, but I don't think I have ever had a smelly one.

well usually all of my discs go out stinky

i make it a point to rub them in my underarms for 30 seconds each

:mrtarver:

just a little extra touch that lamont does
to make my discs stand out from the rest

- When someone goes against clearly stated TOS (no selling, no trading for blanks) & asks for ~75 discs worth of shows, when they have nothing to trade.

- When someone asks for 29 discs worth of shows & has nothing you want in return, so you tell them "sorry, there's nothing on your list I want - good luck" and the next day, they ask again.

- When a newbie you've turned down 4 times (in the previous 4 weeks), pulls up a quote from one of your posts about "I've done trades before that I otherwise would not have, because the trader was a newbie & didn't have much I wanted from them. I don't MIND helping others who are starting out or who want shows I have. " and then asks "just wondered what you do in trying to maybe help get someone some shows on dvd starting out and all. " in an [apparent] attempt to force/guilt/strong arm a trade.

These are sure fire ways to insure the trader will never trade with you and to be added to their block/ignore list.

I realize it's hard to get started in trading. But it's also a topic that has been discussed here several times (including in the past month). I don't think any of the above tactics were offered up as suggestions.

I'm pretty lucky. There is a 99 cent shop where I live and they sell plastic sleeves, 50 and double sided, for a buck. Do all my storage and my trades using them. Take up little space in the house and I can put more in a envelope then previously when I used folded copy machine paper.

Members can sell as long as they don't make threads or posts about it. Is that right?

selling is not allowed on the board
however if 2 members set up a sale via email
OFF THE BOARD
that is between them only
HOWEVER some traders do not sell at all and state so
and i think redwhine was refereing to that

b/c i know she does not sell ever

I CAN SECOND her on that issue
i get people who email me a list
and i decline
3 days later they email me the same list
?????
hello????

if u get something new then ask again
if not then how can they expect a different reply?

I believe that's correct. Personally, I have chosen to never sell but do not think any less of others who do, since that's how many of us got our collections started (by buying).

That's what I meant, as long as it's done off the boards....it's not against the rules.

OH, and what I meant is that my trade list clearly states in bold, red letters that I never sell or trade for blanks.

I was confused because of your statement, When someone goes against clearly stated TOS (no selling, no trading for blanks).

I Hate when Traders are AFRAID to turn you down after making a trade offer. Just tell me I'm not interested and I will say "OK"
