Are there still only 6 eps of Flo in existence?
Mr. Television 07-26-2006, 07:46 PM Although I do not actually have them myself, discovering that all episodes of The New People exist was a happy occasion for me. Now if only a kinescope of Mary Kay & Johnny would pop up...
I would love to see an episode of Mary Kay and Johnny.

I was asking what 5 TV shows are you glad that you found in the past 2 years. Are the shows you listed the ones you glad you found or did you think I meant what 5 shows got you started? Just trying to make sure we are on the same page

Shadow Chasers
The Interns - 12 out of 24 shows
Hec Ramsey - 9 out of 10 shows

cptdunsal 07-26-2006, 11:25 PM I usually sit on the sidelines but this thread Im going to get involved it.
I bow to Loren because his list of...
land of the giants
time tunnel
the invaders
the immortal
the champions
Is so much like mine. Land of the Giants was a real find. Tha Champions I NEVER thought id see again. Same with The Immortal. The Invaders was released on VHS but is still a Heck of a great show to get on DVD. I have to put My World and Welcome to it in with these too.
Even cartoons/kids shows like..
Diver Dan
The Wizard of Oz
Astro Boy
Spunky and Tadpole
Fireball XL-5/ Supercar
What great stuff. Some have been released and others have just popped up. Send me back to the old days of watching the B&W TV.
There's plenty of complete shows out there in the hands of collectors that are willing to sell you the episodes. Thats how I first got Land of the Giants and The Invaders. Be ready to go into the $200 area for a 1 season show with 20 - 30 episodes.

i realize none of the ones i listed were/or hard to find but when i first started trading it was all new to me. i had never had a dvd recorder and i had just bought a new computer with a dvd burner in it. tales from the crypt is probably my favorite show of all time. long answer short - those are the shows i am glad i found
debwalsh 07-27-2006, 12:04 AM My favorite finds of the past 2 years:
Vega$
Beany and Cecil (original - still looking for the John K series)
My Wife Next Door (Britcom)
Jemima Shore Investigates (9 episodes - still need 4 more for a complete set of this '80s UK mystery series)
Seeing Things (Canadian paranormal comedy series - still on VHS and awaiting transfer)
There are others, but those are the biggies for the past two years. Prior to that, finding any episodes of Second Hundred Years was huge for me.

Good for you, Konfusion! Someone with balls enough to say that they aren't seeking a RARE show just because....it's RARE...much like Checking In?
I believe this thread started as: 5 shows that you were HAPPY to find in the past 2 years and a user gets knocked down a bit because their "found" list does not include rare gems...wtf? (Why criticize what others are happy to find?)
I would love to see what would happen if the board seperated into several communities...
my proposed new communities-
A Who will take my Sale items that fell threw for blanks Forum
A Who authored a new set for me to Whore out? Forum
A Forum where people always refer to themselves in the 3rd person and talk about the RAREness of their collection.
and this forum for TRADERS that are not looking for the next RARE turd to polish!!!
Can I get an AMEN?

Do you have Sonny and Cher with Sherman Hemsley as a Guest?
Mr. Television 07-28-2006, 03:46 PM Perfect Strangers hasn't been rerunned much since it originally went into syndication. It was on one of my locals for a couple years originally. I don't remember PS on TBS. I think Head Of The Class was on there for a short time but it didn't last long.
Chelsea 07-29-2006, 09:28 AM USA reran Perfect Strangers for a time. After that, it was syndicated to WB affiliates for a while.
N@N ran, if I remember correctly, 59 total different episodes (1-57, 59, 63)

It was never syndicated on my WB affiliate. It must not have been the whole country. Yea I remember when it was on N@N. 3 a.m. I could never stay up to watch it much and I got tired of setting the timer on my VCR every night.

It was on the WB Cable channels across the nation (markets too small to have a WB broadcast station). I wish I had recorded it too.
Im new to this thing but I was very glad when I managed to get diff strokes on DVD, The Wonder years, Goodnight Sweetheart, Saved by the Bell and now California Dreams.
If I could get Pugwall I would be over the moon but it will never happen I dont think.:(
glockman101 07-29-2006, 08:29 PM I would have to say that the top 5 series on my trade list is Daniel Boone, bret maverick 1980 series, wagon train, bordertown and Five mile creek.
ajm1972 07-29-2006, 10:17 PM Solomon you were happy to find Lewis & Clark, I thought you didnt like the show and didnt even watch more than a few minutes.
Mine would be, all on beta uncut from original network broadcasts with original commercials:
Last 5 seasons of Waltons
Filthy Rich episodes (rare as far as I know)
Scarecrow & Mrs. King episodes (oddly havent seen many of these around)
Vega$ episodes
BJ & The Bear episodes

ajm1972 07-30-2006, 06:02 AM I know who literally taped that Lewis and Clark episode 25 years ago.
I guess even when a show is junk its still considered rare.

Rare Show: Not in syndication or on cable and not on a lot of traders list.
Doesn't Lewis and Clar fall into that category?
debwalsh 07-30-2006, 02:27 PM Sometimes stuff is rare because no one liked it at the time it aired or it just wasn't any good. I think we can safely distinguish "rare" from "good" although at times, a show shares both qualities.
I recently read a review on IMDB of Hot L Baltimore, a show I have always considered to be brilliant - I watched it when it was on the air, and I loved it and I've always wanted a copy of the series for myself. Well, this reviewer, from Wales, I believe, sounded like he'd seen it recently and went into great depth in his criticism of the show. It was really a pretty thorough review, very detailed - and for him, the show was the greatest load of crap ever perpetrated on an unsuspecting public. It's still one of my most wanted shows, not because it's rare, but because I remember it being very good and I've always wanted it. But it's also extremely rare, as in no one has it that I've been able to find, not in nearly 30 years of trading.
But ... I have patience. I will find it some day. In the meantime, I'm happy with what I have found, and have hopes of filling in more of those blanks in my collection.

I think the only hopes of us seeing Hot L baltimore is if it's released on DVD as a Norman Lear One Year Wonder Special. Defintely not going to find any trader with it.
lazygrae 07-30-2006, 02:42 PM I recently read a review on IMDB of Hot L Baltimore
Did you try to contact the reviewer to see if he has copies? I've done that before, sometimes I've had luck, sometimes not. But definitely worth the effort if you have any contact info to reach him/her.
debwalsh 07-30-2006, 04:21 PM I've been toying with the idea. Either this guy has a remarkable memory, or he's seen the show in the last few years. But he hated it so much, I'd be shocked if he kept a copy.
In the meantime, I've sent in a request to S'More Entertainment to look into putting it out as part of their partnership with the UCLA Archive. Can't hurt for other people to ask, too ...
