Does anybody remember a shortened version of the opening title that did not include Sonny Curtis' singing the famous lyrics?
I think it was when the MTMS first went into syndication that a local US TV station used episodes that replaced the original opening. The first season episodes had the original version that ended with "You might just make it after all", but after the second season, the alternate version was used. It might have been a US choice, because the local station in Canada kept the original openings for all of the seven seasons.
I am just wondering if anyone has seen this version lately??

now that I think about it; I DO seem to remember CBS showing a shortened version of the beggining sometimes; back when it first ran.

I remember that. It was an up tempo shortened instrumental version of the theme; couldn't have been more than 10 or 15 seconds in length.

I taped a lot of MTM episodes in the 80s and 90s so I probably have that version on VHS somewhere in my collection!

Yes, that is correct. It was about 10 or 15 seconds. I can hear it plaing around in my head. Can somebody find a link to this one. I would like to hear it again. Thanks, Kevin.

CBS showed it on the last episode originally.

If this is the opening I'm thinking of, Nick At Nite also used it once in a while; mainly during the sixth season.
