The idea was stupid with WTBS and Prime TV. Nobody watched them.

What's next? American Graffiti? How about Dumb and Dumber? That movie should fit perfect with their classic Friday night movie.

It sounds like there's laziness up at the TVLand area.

I saw the Top gun commercial. If I want to see movies I'll just go watch one of the 100's available on cable. TV land should be for Classic TV episodes. Nothing more.

How about The Patty duke show, Chico and the man or all the other older shows. Why can't they put on Laugh In or Sonny and Cher? There's a dummy at TVLand who's at the top.

With so many people waiting for so many classic shows that they love to get a chance on TV Land, they go ahead and slap us in the face showing us re-run to death movies that air on every other channel.

This is probably the most insulting thing they've ever done.

That is a great way of putting it. Who the hell (like Brie said) wants to watch Pee Wee Herman? Who wants to see Top Gun for the billionth time??? I sure don't. That time could be used to either push Gunsmoke, Bonanza in those slot times and bring on something we haven't seen in a while. I think it's time we inundate TVLand's email with some HATE MAIL.

Instead of showing movies, TVLand should show the classic 12-hour Emmy winning 1977 miniseries "Roots" and its sequel, the classic 14-hour 1979 miniseries "Roots: The Next Generation". Both were great classic miniseries and I believe TVLand is the appropriate channel to air them since its TV related. I also believe that if TVLand airs "Roots" and "Roots: The Next Generation", TVLand would have great ratings on the nights they air it and when they repeat it on their schedule after they air it for the first time.

I thought this was supposed to be tvland and not movieland. And the movies they picked-come on Pee Wee Herman? Give us viewers a break!! And Nick at nite is becoming the Fresh Prince channel. I don't mind it but not all the time!! The answer to the question what are they thinking? They are not thinking. I think they should change the name to Idiotland. I think another channel could really steal some viewers away if they had the right shows. Let's hope someone has some guts and takes some chances. What I want to know is who is still watching tvland anyway? The other night I was watching Leave it to Beaver and they cut off part of the show for end credits-I was so disgusted!! Tvland=garbage

I agree with all that's been said. I don't think there's been a positive comment about in this thread. LOL. I think I might email TVLand--but I don't think they really care what their viewers want to see, so it probably wouldn't make a difference. It would be great if they aired something like "Return to Mayberry," etc...movies that are classic TV-related. But they're airing movies that have nothing to do with classic TV and they're showing stuff like Peewee's Big Adventure?? Those hosts creep me out, too!

For some reason, all of the channels I used to love (TVLand, GSN, etc) are now airing junk...argh.

First off, I find that Dagmar and whatshisname, are just totally creepy. Their sugary smiles are nauseating.

I no longer watch Nick at Nite, what happened there? It's the same old 80's and 90's crap, day after day, for hours and hours, amen.

Also, what is going on with TVLand? What ever happened to showing CLASSIC TV?

Why can't there be more of the older stuff, the CLASSIC stuff? Having "Three's Company" on all the time is really getting OLD. Same thing with Sanford and Son and some of the others. What's wrong with some of the great stuff from the 50's? How about some Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Adventures of Superman, etc? How about showing Gomer Pyle, USMC again?

Well? Is anyone listening out there in TVLand?

I'm really not sure what TVLand is trying to do with those two. Are they supposed to look like they are on a space ship, or something? If so, I'll hire NASA and pay whatever it costs to send them back to wherever they came from.

Oh, GOODY! Next Friday, they will be showing "Grease". Wowie, zowie.

Is there anyone that LIKES Dagmar and Goofball? (Can't think of his phoney name). What would be wrong with showing some of the older black and white shows on Friday night? Sure, some of them were really cornball, but they were great for the time. We were in 1950's/1960's, the cold war was raging, kids had Civil Defense Drills, we needed something silly to make us laugh. The Honeymooner's, My Little Margie, Ozzie and Harriet, the list is endless.

Even more fun, would be for TVLand to have Friday night be a "Cartoon Night". Now there are some really classic cartoons that could be shown. Some that could not be shown again, many of them were not politically correct, but were allowable back then, as that was the norm.

I could go on and on, but I think I'll enjoy being a newbie to this site and checking out what everyone has to say.

I couldn't agree more with all of the posts I read(except for the one that actually like thoes two hosts). As I have ranted,I have no problems with movies being showned on N@N (N@N) T.V.Land as long as it would have been made for T.V. movies like they did last year.I for one can't figure out why in the holy :cuss: they think anyone with a sound mind want to see the billionth showing of Top Gun,Pee-Wee Big Adventure, or even Greese&Hooser. These are movies that not even being shown on AMC because even they know people are tried of these movies.Plus all of the classics are being made way for the originals shows that they also been running into the ground;like Living In T.V. Land,T.V. Land Confidential,Chasing Farrah and other farces. Now,they want to put on original T.V. sitcoms;should that be the purpose of this channel?!?NOOOOOO!But they do in in the name of ratings, and to aim toward the 18-24 year old whom grew up on Jackass and Fear Factor(with them liking such stuff),so that why we have all of these problems. That why we can't get classics anymore!Whomever is running this channel should receive the following::nonono: :thumbsdow :smash: :whip :yousuck: :mooner: ohno: :stooges:

Dagmar and Tigmoar (whatever his name is) have to be the most stupidest and annoying people on Earth. Are they people? Or, did they crashed from another planet? If they did, I would be very happy to pay money to send these two back to where they are from  I think they aren't from Earth since you don't see normal people acting like that over a movie. And they make me sick with their fake accents, stupid disco dances, and trying to be funny that I have to turn the channel, or end up throwing my book right at the TV when they come on. I mean, no one wants to watch movies that have been on other stations since the late 90s.

"And what's up with those creepy hosts Torbin and Dagmar?"

Who the hell knows? What the hell target audience are they going for with that lameness? TVLand has become one of the most dissapointing networks on television...Nickelodeon's Nick at Nite being the single most dissapointing! What are these morons thinking? The aforementioned networks built their fan base off of discriminating legions of television viewers that wished to view programming that differed from your average, modern and very boring shows...The shows that have and are creeping into the schedules of these networks were shows we, the bulk of the fan base, had little or no interest tuning in to the first time around, hence leading us to their networks...and now they sell out and have become Turner channel clones showing crap that led the audience away from network television those many years ago when the Nick networks were building a fan base? What the hell happened? Did daddy or mommy network owner die and leave the companies to idiot offspring? I just don't understand companies that turn their backs on the very people that made them famous. BRING BACK THE SHOWS WE THE VIEWING PUBLIC WANT TO SEE...OR WATCH YOUR NETWORK'S RATINGS PLUMMET FASTER THAN ROSEANNE FALLING OFF A BED WHILE REACHING FOR A BUCKET OF KFC...BRING BACK:

LAUGH-IN
LANCELOT LINK
THE MONKEES
DOBIE GILLIS
MY THREE SONS
DONNA REED
DENNIS THE MENACE
SCTV
FERNWOOD 2 NITE
LASSIE
AND THE REST OF THE CLASSICS YOU BUILT YOUR COMPANY ON...or be permanantly labelled the "Roseanne" network...Nick at Nite is garbage lately...Why even bother with the shows they show...you can find ALL of them elsewhere...That's what used to make the Nick networks cool...The shows they used to show were not found ANYWHERE else...Look, I know these old shows rights cost a little bit more than what you gus are probabyl paying Turner, but it takes money to make money, so quit being so damn cheap nd get the real shows back on and crap can the 80s-90s garbage..

Thanks

I am stunned!

Just when I thought that TVLand couldn't sink any lower, now they are bringing back the Cosby Show! Puh-leeeeeze! Nothing against Cosby, but classic TV????????????? This is like living the 80's all over again! Whatever happened to CLASSIC TV? Not only that, but TVLand has taken "I Love Lucy" off the daytime sched and it is only on at 5 AM now! Lucy and Ricky are headed for Hollywood, and in order to catch that great series, one has to be awake BEFORE the chickens!

Benson is classic? Oh, help me! I think that if I have to sit through another episode of "Three's Company" that I just might commit hari kari.

Nick @ Nite is a total joke. It USED to be good when it showed the true classics. Now it is just the same old, non-classic TV.

And then there is TVLand. When did "Designing Women" become a classic? And this new show that they are starting in January, "Just Shoot Me"??? I have NEVER heard of the show, how can it be classic?

Bring back the TRUE classics. Also, what is with these idiotic movies? They take up so much of the weeks' schedule and are hardly classic movies. How about showing some Abbott and Costello? Laurel and Hardy? How about a few old Lucy movies?

I wonder if there is something like a "nostalgia" channel out there in T V Land? Notice I did not say "TVLand".

Is anyone listening?
