In a Very Brady Christmas, Alice arrives at the Brady house at the beginning, and she gives Mike the note Sam had left her. Mike reads it aloud:

"Dear Alice. I lied to you. I wasn't working nights plucking chickens. I met a younger woman. At first we just traded meat load recipes, then, one night she asked me over to season her rump roast. I guess I'm an old fool, but I fell for her like a pound of ground chuck."

The show wasn't always about comedy.

Yea it was a bad thing just to leave a note to Alice. Who played Sam was it the original one?

At the very end of the tv movie, Sam visits the house in a Santa suit to ask Alice to take him back. Even in his fake beard, you can tell it's not the original actor who played Sam. The voice sounded kinda similar, but you can tell it was different too.

I just watched "A Very Brady Christmas" for the first time! It was a lot of fun! But yeah that was sneaky having Sam show up in a Santa suit and beard in hopes that we wouldn't notice that it wasn't the "real" Sam (Alan Melvin)!

Sam was played in A Very Brady Christmas by the late Lewis Arquette, son of Cliff (aka Charley Weaver) and father of David and the other acting Arquettes.

Oh okay thanks I didnt think so. I've been always wondering about it and thought I'd ask while the subject was brought up :)
