I've been downloading eps. of Eight is Enough on In2TV lately. I used to watch EIE when it was on Pax, and I'm remembering why I liked it so much. It's such a sweet show. :) Of the ones I've seen recently, I think my faves have been "Long Night's Journey Into Day" and "Great Expectations." I hope they keep adding more, like the one where Tommy breaks his leg and Abby is his tutor (and of course that's how she and Tom meet!).

So...anyway, I thought maybe I'd try and start some discussion here, b/c I hate to see a dead forum for a show like this, hehe.

Did you miss the first couple of months after AOL launched the service? They had the episode where Tommy breaks his leg. Maybe they will eventually cycle back to the earlier episodes once they finish a complete run through the series.

I'm enjoying it, too. They have been skipping a few episodes here and there - most notably the two visits from Auntie V (during the first season, and during the second season right after Tom and Abby were married).

I also wish they had used the original edits for the episodes from the latter part of season one. These are the episodes that were filmed while Diana Hyland was ill, so it was explained that Joan was "out of town", and the family was occasionally seen speaking to her on the phone. When ABC reran the show in the summer of '77 (before the second season), they only ran the non-Joan episodes from the first season, editing out all mentions of her and re-doing the opening credits to eliminate Hyland. They did this so that viewers would get used to the show without her, but I'd like to see those episodes restored to their original versions. When the show ran in syndication in the 80s, they used the original versions, but Pax ran the summer '77 edits, and so is AOL.

Yes, I did miss that! Ugh, that's one of my fave episodes. Grr. Oh, well, maybe they'll put it back or something. I hope this show makes it to DVD someday, b/c I would def. buy it. I had forgotten how good it was!

I can't use AOL for some reason and I love this show so much! If anyone could e-mail me just ONE episode or put it up on rapidshare or something, I'd be eternally grateful! Pm me if this is viable.

I just got 3 episodes on dvd! I love this show so much. I've literally not seen an episode since the very early 80s when I was just a kid. Brought back so many memories. The house and neighbourhood are as picturesque as ever.

SOMETIMES I PASS A HOUSE AND YARD AND THINK IT LOOKS JUST LIKE THE BRADFORDS.
SILLY, I KNOW, BUT AT TIMES I WISH I COULD BUY ONE OF THOSE HOUSES, JUST BECAUSE OF THE SHOW AND ALL THE FOND MEMORIES OF IT, AND OF ALL THE MEMORIES THE "BRADFORDS MUST HAVE HAD":) TOO, MAYBE BECAUSE I WISH I HAD A BIG FAMILY LIKE THAT GROWING UP. THERE SURE WASN'T A DULL MOMENT, AND LOTS OF APPARENT LOVE, DESPITE THEIR SQUABBLES.:)
