Did you think Mike and Carol let Peter off the hook in the end by filling in for his absent friends at the party? (I guess someone had to eat all that crap!) Would you have allowed him to blow his 50 bucks (which was alot for a kid back in 1970!) on pizza and soda? Did you think Tina's mom put pressure on an 11 year old kid when it came to wanting to give him anything he wanted? (as a kid..that would have been heaven for me, but they were trying to teach a lesson!)
Just some thoughts on a HOT Saturday afternoon!!!! :happyface

Man, Tina's mom must have been loaded! Did you see the pile of stuff Peter got?

It would have been realistic at that time to either (1) Offer to buy Peter any one item from the store or (2) to offer to by up to "X" number of dollars worth of gifts, but to buy him everything in the store that he wanted? And shouldn't Greg and Marcia have stepped in at some point and said "that's enough Pete, remember what Mom and Dad said"... maybe they knew Pete would get in trouble and wanted to see him brought down to earth the hard way...

Yeah, no doubt Mike and Carol didn't want Pete's money to go to waste... I'd seen that episode (one of MY favorites as well) dozens of times over the years before I ever noticed (a few years ago) that Tina and her Mom were at that party at the end of the episode. I never looked that closely at the table, just assumed that the Brady kids were there and that was it...

Besides, I think that Mike and Carol knew that Pete had learned his lesson by that time, and wanted him to go on with his life rather than to keep sulking about it...

Did you notice the tiny pizzas on the table at the end? They looked like those Chef Boy Ar Dee pizzas in a box. They taste pretty good but they must have cost about a dollar a pair back at that time.

I liked this ep, among other reasons, for the toystore itself. Anyone still have any independent toystores in their area ?

Yeah I thought of the same thing. She told Peter that she was going to buy him anything he wanted, so she must've been loaded.

There are a couple stores like that where I grew up, been there for years and years. They are more like hobby shops though, mainly selling model airplanes, cars.

... this is one of the few eps I have not seen in a while (err... a LONG while). Many times I'm home from work by the time the Bradys air, so I'll have to pay more attention.

"Kelly's Kids" and the last part of the Canyon trio (Brady Braves?) have been a problem as well, but I have recently caught them.

I tried to post pix of THE house (I visited last June), but my wifey was even having problems posting...lol...sorry. We'll figure it out. Funny - it's a small, tight neighborhood (two or three bedroom homes)... looks so wide open and spacious from the opening shots...
