View Full Version : THE EPISODES THAT ARE ON THE DVD ARE THEY FROM PARAMOMUNT OF SYNDICATION studd911 07-22-2006, 03:16 PM HEY I have not bought the dvds yet but i have one question are all of the episodes that are on the dvd from the original master tapes from paramount pictures or are there prints episodes from the syndications Jack1000 07-22-2006, 06:25 PM Studd, They are the original master tapes restored. Some 16mm prints were used throughout the DVD to get the episodes to uncut length. The reason is because when Brady Bunch first went to syndication, Paramount did their cuts from the original master tapes. Back up prints had to be used in some parts of the DVDs to make the episodes complete. TV Land and syndicate used different edits of the show. The DVD's are complete and uncut with the following exceptions: 1.) All of the vacation episodes are missing the fill in squares between the last commercial break and the credits. 2,) Hawaii episode, "Pass The Tabu" is missing about 15 seconds of dialogue. This is the ONLY dialogue cut. 3.) "Love and the Older Man" lacks the fill in squares. 4.) "Greg Gets Grounded" also lacks the fill in squares. With these exceptions, the shows are complete and run between 25-26 minutes on average. (All syndicated and TV Land versions of The Brady Bunch are edited or time compressed, coming in at about 21:50.) So on average, you are getting a good 3-4 minutes per episode that you can't see anywhere else. For more details and a list of DVD restorations start about four pages from the last page of the "Brady Bunch Scene/Episode no Longer Aired Thread." Jack |
