Couldn't have said it any better myself. Hopefully your parents don't go overboard in the punishment. That's something that's always bothered me, these overly restrictive parents who flip out the first time their perfect little angel does something a little bad. Not that I'm saying there shouldn't be discipline, far, FAR from it...but some folks nowadays just go overboard in their reactions.

Ok, a couple weeks ago I was really bored and decided to do some funny prank call to my friend Mary. She goes to my Church. Anyway I pretened to be a girl named "Lily" and saying we met online and everything. Pretty soon she got tired of it because I called her so much and I was saying inappopriate things (as Lily). And just for fun, I also pranked called some other people from my Church pretending to be Lily and saying Mary gave me her phone number.....that mad Mary mad and confused. I even called Mary later as myself saying this girl named Lily called me and said you told me her phone number. I know, this sounds immature, but I was SO BORED! lol, but it got really bad then. 2 days ago Mary's parents called the police and had a police file down.
But then later they were kinda suspecting (Mary and her family) that it was me who called as Lily because me and "Lily's" voice sounded so alike. I paniked....there is NO WAY she can find out it's me!!! She's such a good friend and if she found out, she and the whole church would hate me! And my parents would ground me til I'm 60! I swore it wasn't me, so I THINK they believe me now but I'm not sure.

It's better to tell the truth Nikki, because chances are, they can track the call and find out that it was you and if they catch you in that lie your punishment will be much worse. It's better to be honest from the beginning, your parents will respect and trust you more that way.

It might be kind of bizarre, but I think Niki was just, as she said, very bored, and carried out what she thought, at the time, was an amusing prank. She probably took it a little too far, but I don't think she meant any harm by it. I guess she didn't really think it through.

If her parents find out it was her, I hope they don't punish her TOO harshly - although I agree that some form of punishment would be in order.

i doubt you'll be grounded forever. you didn't know what you were doing was that bad, but yes lying about things does get back at you. and if you admit it yourself, people are much more likely to trust you in the future than they would if someone else caught you first.

I agree that Niki was wrong to do that. But I don't think she meant any harm. I think it was just a joke that got out of hand. I don't think she realised what sort of consequences it might have, and didn't realise that it would annoy/worry her friends and their parents so much.

And now someone is going to tell me that I'm being mean and that I need to stop being a jerk. Well, I'm sorry, but she should have stopped harrassing people who didn't anything to her because she was "bored." I'm barely a year older than her yet me and my friends have enough sense not to do something completely idiotic like that. And that's what it was. Completely idiotic.

I like Niki. She seems very nice, and basically, I feel she's a good, kind, intelligent well-behaved person.

Having said that, I do agree that her prank was stupid. It would have been okay if she'd only done it one or two times, but to carry on was silly. But from what I know of Niki, I'm sure she didn't mean any harm by it. I think she just didn't think about it enough. She got carried away. It's unfortunate.

Well, if that is the reason Niki started those two threads, I can see why she wouldn't want to admit the truth to us. I'm not condoning it, but I can see why she wouldn't want to tell everyone outright what she did.

But then again, it could be possible that maybe the things in the thread really did happen to her - maybe someone was calling her at weird times, and saying weird things. It could have been true.

Wow Nikki, this is really bad, if me or my brother had done something like that when we were younger, my dad would have grounded us for life, especially since the police are being brought into it.

You're right. I'm hoping she'll be able to come back here soon. If her parents and everyone else involved believe her when she tells them it wasn't her, then she may not punished at all. Of course, if they find out it was her, and they do ground her for a long time, it will probably be some time before she'll be able to come on. But hopefully we'll see her again soon.

I thought immediately of those threads when this thread was made. It wasn't until I was told what happened that I thought long and hard and decided to post those two threads here. It seems, to me at least (and others as well) that she was the one who was doing the harassing and was scared s**t or else, why would she continue to "worry" abt these harassing phone calls she "supposedly" was receiving? The solution was easy, don't answer the phone when the caller ID doesn't show who is calling.

Then, more posts from her mentioning "is it true police can find out who made harassing calls" etc. began to sound fishy. Why would one worry abt the police intervening, unless it was YOU who was doing the harassing?

I believe as long as she is honest with her parents, the punishment won't be as severe as she thinks it will be...Paranoia can be your worst enemy.

I believe what his former wife Tatum said abt his heavy drug use. It was more than marijuana. The reason I believe Tatum is because she is in recovery and knows that one must own up to their mistakes and drug use issues.

Yeah, he was a bit of a naughty boy, was Mac. But he's not really a bad guy. From what I've seen of him, I like him a lot. I love hearing him commentate, and he can be really funny. And it seems he's something of a family man as well (well, he does have six kids, the youngest being seven.)
