Let me say 1st that, with yet-another-lame-TV-show-movie-remake (Miami Vice) about to come out, I most definitely do not want to see a Cheers movie. And yet, I can't help, for some reason, but speculate on who I would cast in the leads should such a movie be made now. For Sam and Diane, I'm leaning toward Luke Wilson and Naomi Watts, though I'm open to changing my mind.

Well... personally, I don't want to see a movie either. But... if they did happen to make one, I would want the original cast if at all possible. No one could replace any of the actors on that show. Of course, the movie would have to be based more than ten years after Cheers ended, but...

Of course, I don't want to see a movie either, nor can anyone do a better job than Ted and Shelley. However, they are a little old to play an ex-baseball player in his early thirties and a college student in her late twenties, as when Cheers started. For the sake of argument, just pretend.

It would be interesting to see if they pull it off, but that's just me.
