Sorry i couldn`t say much on the subject this morning- i had to run to work but i have been chomping at the bit all day to talk more about this FANTASTIC news. I just couldn`t believe my eyes when i downloaded my emails and got all of the above articles - i think i screamed for about 5 minutes ( my hubby thought that something was wrong!) quite the opposite:D
If it`s true about Bruce wanting to bring back Maddie and David to life for the big screen then i`ll bet the farm that it will happen . I wonder what changed his mind , maybe Cybill had that chat with him that i suggested to her on her web site a few months ago. And if she did talk him round, what did she do to change his mind;) :D
I wonder if Glenn is on board with the idea - has he got a great story line that is perfect for Bruce and Cybill( hopefully with plenty of making out scenes between the two of them:lol:
We all know that Cybill has been keen to do it for a while ( bring back Moonlighting for the big screen i mean!)So now that Bruce has stepped up to the plate there is a REAL possibility that it wiil happen. OMG i still can`t believe it, my stomach is still doing back flips even now and i have had this stupid grin on my face all day:D
I know i`ll be making sure i have front row seats for the premiere! THANK YOU BRUCE FOR FINALLY COMING TO YOUR SENSES!

From I Heard it Through the Grapevine:

People say believe half of what you see,
Son, and none of what you hear.

This rumor sounds suspiciously like it comes from part of an interview for Over the Hedge.....and if it is the same interview, the quote is taken out of context.

Curious that none of these sources discuss where or when the interview that produced this story happened.

Maybe , but if it was taken out of context from his interview from Over The Hedge why now, i mean that interview was given some weeks back. And you never know but it could be because Bruce had to tapp into his 80s alter ego for the film plus not to mention meeting back up with Cybill again to do the Moonlighting dvds and most importantly a chance to work with Cybill again!maybe that`s the reason he is seriously considering doing a movie. Stranger things have happened. But your`e right i think maybe we should hold off from popping the champayne untill it has been confirmed by a reliable source.

Unfortunately, after rereading the articles, I am inclined to believe this is just wishful thinking. Nowhere is he quoted as saying he wants to do a movie, just that nobody writes this kind of character any more. Sad.

Whether or not this is true, I don't know. But based on the TV forums I've seen today, the reaction from most ML fans is very positive. If nothing else, it might get the 'powers that be' thinking about it! (As for his comment about only seeing action scripts, I haven't been too enamored with BW's films of late).

As amazing as this would be and trust me it would be a dream come true for me and you all too. I hate to say it is probably a false story or taken out of context type thing. He has always been so adamant about never doing a ML movie(why oh why Bruce?) but if it was true i would bow down to him LOL

Here`s another one but it pretty much says the same as the others.

If it is a hoax then then every one has fallen for because i have just been on all the search engines i know and there are loads of articles on this subject - even CBS online news mentions it .
I know that i am going to be keeping a very close eye on the media over the coming weeks - wanting and waiting .

I thought the same thing Diana, I heard that interview he don't said exactly so but we like hoping, don't?

I've got to admit that I'm taking this with a huge pinch of salt (and pepper and any other condiments). BW has been so against the idea of doing this in the past, no matter how keen Cybill has been. It sounds like it has been taken out of context, I would assume that BW is bemoaning the lack of fantastic characters like Dave Addison. Buy hey, you never know. Stranger things have happened... :-)

I know it's hard to believe, but it seems to really be true! If only a great script can be made (c'mon Glenn!) a movie will probably happen! OMG! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

SHEPHERD CONFIRMS MOONLIGHTING REUNION

CYBILL SHEPHERD has confirmed she is set to reunite with BRUCE WILLIS for a movie adaptation of hit 1980s TV show MOONLIGHTING. The actress and Willis have been discussing a return to their characters, MADELYN 'MADDIE' HAYES and detective DAVID ADDISON JR respectively, with the programme's creator GLENN CARRON, and work on a new script is already underway. She says, "When I spoke to Glenn Carron recently, he said he'd love to do some kind of reunion, and he's figuring out a way to do it that won't be corny. Watch this space." Willis recently revealed he'd be prepared to return to the role that made him a superstar, saying, "No one's writing those kind of comedy roles any more. It's so hard to invent a character like David Addison. "When I read the Moonlighting script, I said, 'I know this guy. I know how this guy thinks.' "I'm shown many more scripts for action films, thrillers and scary movies than comedies. "There just aren't people up for the challenge of writing characters and material that's funny."

It's funny, tho I've been against a moonlighting reunion movie in the past, but as soon as it seems possible, I'm getting a bit excited. Even if it doesn't happen, I would love to see Cybill and Bruce on screen together again!! :D

Funny how that site is always repeating and mixing up old quotes -- with just a little twist so they seem new.

I have a hard time believing in the reliability of this type of "journalism"

The thing I'm excited about in this article is that C has actually talked to both BW and GGC about it, and they're positive. I have never read that before anywhere! Then I don't know if whoever wrote it is a reliable source. I understand that even if it is true that they all wanna do a movie, it won't happen right away... But I can wait! :D
