As a kid there was one flavor I went crazy for, blackjack chewing gum. It had a licorice flavor, and I loved good and plenty, so all I chewed was blackjack gum. Came in a blue and white wrapper. Haven't seen it in years. Most of my friends liked Wrigley's spearmint. Ug!

When I was a kid it was Bubs Daddy.

These days it's Orbit spearmint or Dentyne ice spearmint.

Did anyone try Fleers double, bubble gum or Bazooka bubble gum? Thousands of years ago they cost a penny, made the biggest bubbles and always had a paper inside the wrapper, that if you sent in 25 wrappers and a quarter, you would get a prize. You could play ball in the streets for hours with that one piece of gum or spend two cents for a "jawbreaker". Looked like a huge marble, different flavors and also took hours to consume.

There is a Italian ices store near me that sells bubble gum flavor ices. Close your eyes and you swear it's bubble gum. Their ices are home made and have to be tasted to be believed. They have one item called cream ices, and it tastes better then ice cream.

Hey, Brooklyn has to be good for something. There are so many large ethnic areas in New York that the foods are as in the old country. Italian, Chinese, Indian, Thai, Polish, Hungarian, Turkish, Greek, Irish etc. There is one Turkish restuarant that makes lamb dishes you can die for, in particular with the white sauce.

That's my favorite too. The only bad thing is the flavor wears out in a matter of minutes.

I don't chew much gum anymore, unless it's to make my breath smell good, but as a kid I liked the fruity gums like Bubble yum, bubblicious, and fruit stripe gum. I chewed alot of that as a kid. I also liked bubble tape.

I never chew gum these days, but I used to like Juicy Fruit, even though the flavor only lasted for 30 seconds, if that.

That sounds like you're talking about smoking or chewing tobacco, not chewing gum. I've never heard anyone say that about chewing gum.

I like virtually anything minty to keep my breath fresh. I mostly chew "Trident" because we get a jumbo pack for us at work, and I like it because the elasticity of the gum lasts a long time. There are some brands (like Orbitz) that seems to get "floury" after a while where it comes apart easily.

I used to like those flavored gums when I was younger. Awww...I have fond memories of waiting for the middle school bus where a group of us would head over to a nearby store and buy tons of gums and candies. That's when I loved those flavored ones like Fruit Stripes (the one that was posted up above) and so on. But now I don't like them because they taste like candy and don't freshen your breath. Yuck.
