Sony has done a fantabulous job of putting out unedited and pristine looking TV series, Bewithched & Gidget come to mind. They have also beautifully colorized Bewitched and I Dream Of Jeannie, so great is this colorizing that it looks better than the actual color shows. So why didn't Sony do likewise with Hazel's first season? I wish Sony would have colorized the 1st season of Hazel the beautiful way the colored Bewitched & I Dream of Jeannie. Hazel is my favorite show & I'd love to see this first season in color for the first time. But I'll gladly still buy the b/w set, but come on Sony, give Hazel the same wonderful treatment you gave in coloring Bewitched. Hazel deserves her red hair showing off to all.:)

...during its first season, 'Hazel', was because Screen Gems {the TV arm of Columbia Pictures} was a cheap production company! If the Ford Motor Company (their primary sponsor during the first four seasons) hadn't insisted on filming that "test" episode in late 1961 [the color TV set war], and then decided the show would be in "living color" beginning in season two, Screen Gems would NEVER have filmed the show in color at all!!!!

The only way SONY {which owns Columbia Pictures} will ever "colorize" the first season on DVD is if there's a demand for "HAZEL" (as "BEWITCHED" and "I DREAM OF JEANNIE" definitely are). Unfortunately, there aren't enough "collectors" out there at this time to warrant a "colorized" first season DVD set.

Actually, I like the first season of Hazel in B&W. The rest were color and that's good too. I hated that the first two seasons of Bewitched were colorized. That's the only versions I could buy in Houston. I would have preferred the B&W since that's the way they were originally filmed. Michael

It would be a dream come true to have Hazel, Honeymooners, Leave It To Beaver, I Love Lucy, and any other b/w show you can think of to have it as beautifully colorized the way Sony colorized Bewitched & I Dream Of Jeannie. They did a fantastic coloring job on those shows and they'd do just as great a job on Hazel. SONY, colorize Hazel and all other shows, whether you've got the rights to them or not. I want them all in color.:)
