View Full Version : Something To Think About........

I just thought of this...... if Jenilee Harrison ( Cindy Snow), was in season 5, which we all know is true, then why in the world is she not featured on the front cover??? We all know she didn't receive a top billing yet, but, still, she was there. Larry didn't become a regular cast member until season 4, but he is on the season 3 cover. Same situation, really. Maybe they used the pic with Suzanne to help push the sales of the 5th season....... Also, Furley is not on there either, but he is on 6 & 7....hhmmm..... Something to think about. Ok for Larry but not Cindy...... Also considering that Cindy was in more episodes that year (partial or full) than Chrissy. Chrissy had 2 full episodes & 7 phone tag episodes for a total of 9 episodes. And Cindy appeared in a total of 16 episodes either partial or full. Which means she had more time in season 5 than Chrissy & she is not acknowledged, unlike Larry between 3 & 4...... what's up with that??

Because Cindy was a Midseason replacement

Yeah, but they could have still found a pic to acknowledge her in that season especially since she had more time on the show that season. And what about Larry in season's 3 & 4. He wasn't a "regular" cast member either in season 3. He didn't become "full time" until season 4, but he still made the season 3 cover. I don't see the difference, myself. Because he only made "occasional" appearances up until season 4. I think the company just picks a random photo that they think will help sell the set. And because season 5 had a lot of changes, I think they went with the 3 original room mates to help sell the 5th season. Because really, most of the covers of ALL of the TV shows from what I hear anyway, do not corrispond with the seasons anyway. Also, episode # 79 started season 5. Cindy appeared in episode # 85, which was only the 7th show of the season. Out of 22. not getting technical, but with the season just getting started, I don't think she was a "mid-season" replacement. And I still don't see the difference in her character & Larry's. Because whatever happened then is in the past. For today's times, they should have packaged it correctly & put all of the characters involved on the front instead of the so-called "main three". I think they used that pic to sell the set because season 5 had a lot of changes. The main packaging was all I was meaning. No one else is acknowledged, & then the Larry deal between 3 & 4. Why should that be any different? They could have used a collage format with different pics of everybody involved, for season 5, maybe. Just a thought.

I agree. If I was in charge of the covers, here's what I would have. I remember wondering why Cindy wasn't on the cover when I first saw the season five set.

Season 1 - A big season 1 photo of Jack, Janet and Chrissy. With a smaller pic of the Ropers.

Season 2 - Would be the same as season one, but updated with a season two photo.

Season 3 - The same as the others but with a season three pic. I would have Larry in a small pic alongside the Ropers.

Season 4 - This would have a large pic of Jack, Janet and Chrissy. With a smaller pic of Furley, Larry and Lana.

Season 5 - I'd have a large photo of Jack, Janet and Cindy. There'd be the smaller pic of Furley and Larry. Maybe in the corner, I'd have a small screen cap of Chrissy on the phone. So she's included, but you're aware that it's the famous tag scenes.

Season 6 - Anchor Bay did this one right. I'd have the big pic of Jack, Janet and Terri. A smaller pic of Furley, Cindy and Larry.

Season 7 - A large pic of Jack, Janet and Terri with a small pic of Furley and Larry.

Season 8 - The same as seven, but with a season eight photo.

The reason I have Jack, Janet and (Fill in the Blank) with a big pic and the other cast members with a small photo is to point out who the "Three" in Three's Company are. I know everyone would know anyways. But still.

Yeah, you made some good points. Also, notice that Larry is not on the front cover of season 7 either. And he had an opening credit then, too. He was a full fledged cast member then & was not included. All the seasoned packaging is out of whack, but i guess it's what's on the inside that counts. I was just meaning the company could have put a little more thought or effort in their packaging schemes to really correspond with the correct season sequencing & include everybody involved in some way. I mean season 5 depicts Chrissy as a "main character" & she's only in 2 full epidodes & 7 of the "phone tag" episodes.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but they had done the promotional photos for season 5 with Suzanne as they hadn't had to resort to Cindy yet. Those are usually done just before the new season starts. So there were no promotional pictures including Cindy until the 6th season. Isn't that right?

I agree with you jacktripper1, Jennilee should have been on the cover of season 5. I thought she was an excellent addition to the cast and John played off her so well. I think TC peaked at the fifth season. That scene with John and Jennilee with the Ironing board was classic.

She was on the Back because she wasn't in a full season

How could she be on the Cover of Season 5 when there were no Promitional Photos with Jenilee and John and Joyce until after season 5?

Chrissy wasn't in that 5th season full time either. 2 full episodes & 7 30 second phone tags grants her a cover shoot. I don't buy it when Cindy was in 16 of 22 episodes either partial or full. What's the difference- I can't see it. Besides the way all the season covers are messed up anyway the company could have still used a season 6 photo of her in some way. Look at season 7's cover. It's a season 6 shoot because they all are wearing the same clothes. Also, like I said in an earlier post, the company is going to pick a picture that they think will help sell the product. I saw season 5 in Kmart not long ago & it also had a big oversized sticker on it that said, "Suzanne Somers Final Season Of Three's Company". That's what they're banking on selling season 5. Like I also said in an earlier post- what happened in the past is the past. That doesn't mean they could not have found a picture of Cindy from season 6 & used it for todays times to package the seasons correctly. I mean, all the other season packages are messed up too, so I don't see what the harm would have been in having Cindy on the front cover when she did have more time in season 5 than Chrissy. And still, what about Larry between seasons 3 & 4. And another thought I had last night- what about Lana in season 4? She was only on the show for 12 episodes & not a regular cast member either, but she's on the front cover?? And Cindy was in 16 episodes in season 5 which is STILL more time than Lana in a season & she's STILL not acknowledged. Basically, I'm just saying that the total packaging is all wrong for this set because there was no serious thought put into it to make it correspond with the correct seasons. The company just picks a random picture they think will help sell the product because it's all about the Benjamin's. They know the public will buy it anyway because we all love these classic TV shows.
