I do. She gradually changed from the sweet, humble Louise from All in the Family to sort of rich and pampered in later seasons on the Jeffersons.

Yeah, she did get kind of fat and snobby during later seasons.

Yes, she did. She started off as sort of subdued and not really crazy about the money and then later she really started acting sort of uppity.

I guess the writers realized that, that is why they made her volunteer at the Help Center. Even when she did that though, she seemed too good for it. LOL

I agree. She didn't seem as humble as she was before striking it rich. I'd probably be the way, lol.

I disagree. I never remember Louise looking down on anyone as if she was better, and she always did what was right- always. I also don't remember her embarking on endless shopping sprees or anything else that would imply that she was spoiled.

She definitely got used to having money, jewelry and furs though. I liked her better when she was more uncomfortable with the money- she seemed more real to me then, although it is quite unrealistic that she would not stay that way for 11 seasons.

Yeah she changed a lot from this season 1 statement

"George you got your nose so high in the air you need a ten foot pole to pick it"

I agree. They would not do that to the character knowing how people loved her so much. To me, the rich, snobby people are like that rich couple in Good Times...the parents of Clarissa. That! is uppity, snooty and snobbish.

This brings up the question of what exactly were Louise's flaws- if any? I don't think she was perfect, but while George was obnoxious, selfish, egotistical and in the earlier seasons prejudiced and Florence was shiftless what was wrong with Louise?

So would anyone else who went from ho-hum lifestyle to getting to where George and Louise got. That's like expecting a person who wins the lotto to stay in their tiny little house with their crappy car to NOT buy a nice house and a new car. I haven't seen anything that proves Louise was spoiled, snooty, uppity or anything remotely like that.

Of course she got used to the money....I am not disagreeing with that. I'm disagreeing when people are saying that she became "spoiled" because of the money. That is absolutely incorrect. If anything, she used her money in good. She worked at the Help Center and gave her time and money to help those people.
