I don't like anything about Dominoes, Pizza Hut, or Pappa John's. They don't give you a lot for what they charge, and the pizza is terrible anyway. Pizza Hut is probably the WORST out of the franchises. They got crappy wings, too.

On the local front, we got tons of local places that will blow the franchises away. Two of them that come to mind are Salvatore's and Amico's. Salvatores is a local 10 chain pizzeria. You can get a 32 slice of pizza (with your choice of toppings) with 30 wings for just under 30 dollars. You haven't had pizza until you have had Salvatores. And Amicos have nearly the same deal. But they got killer wings. You can get a 50 piece wing for 18 bucks!

The problem I have with franchise pizza(other than it is nasty) is that when you order an extra large pizza, you actually get a medium. Anyway, if you want pizza, go to your local joint, because the franchises are wack!

I agree totally! I rarely, if ever, go to franchises. Especially Dominoes...

I agree, besides, New York has the best pizza in the world anyway. No need for Pizza Hut or anything else like that.

Actually, Pizza Hut pizza tastes different everywhere. The Pizza Hut in Oregon is VERY VERY VERY VERY different from the Pizza Hut here in New York.

But local pizza is better.

Local pizza is NOT always better. Well, usually, but not always. Here in Albany (the small town I'm from), we've got a local place (used to have 2 - 1 closed), and the pizza is awful (Breadsticks are wonderful though). Pizza Hut is miles better compared to it.

Most of the time, local pizza is the best. Because you got people who take their time to do their own recipes, unlike these franchises that have the "corporate" way of doing things.

Oh, I agree with you - under most circumstances the local stuff is better. I'm just pointing out that's not always the case.

I may be a weirdo or something, but I think I prefer the taste of franchise pizza better (although I wouldn't deny a slice of La Casa pizza if it was in my face).

The local pizza place by work is VERY good but it's way too expensive.

:yeahthat

With the exception of a few local chains like East of Chicago Pizza Company (http://www.eastofchicago.com/), La Rosa's (http://www.larosas.com/), and Cassano's (http://www.cassanos.com/), I agree. I mean, what's the attraction with eating at a pizza place that has a presence in all fifty states?

I love Papa Gino's, but other than that I prefer local pizza.

I happen to notice that service at local pizzerias is much better than at franchises too, at least the ones I've been to.

I have to agree. I'd take House of Pizza, Al's, or Leonzo's over any pizza franchise. Pizza Hut is alright. Dominoes just sucks, and I've never had Papa John's.

I didn't know what you were talking about at first, but then I read your bread sticks thread, so now I know. LOL
