View Full Version : How come Lana didn't go after Larry?
GARFIELDKOOL 07-15-2006, 11:18 PM She was horny, and he was ladies man. I don't remember them being in too many scenes together, but it would have been interesting to see if Larry would have responded to Lana in the way that Jack didn't. Would he have been aggressive, or would he have backed off? This was always a mystery.
gilligan fanatic 07-15-2006, 11:23 PM Hmm, I never thought of that.
They probably thought each other was way to desperate for the other.
TVFactFan 07-15-2006, 11:44 PM She probably would have but remember Larry arranged for Jack to be the Escort instead of him? And since she had met Jack first she was already hooked.
Poke1313 07-16-2006, 01:05 AM This is kinda hard to follow, but here goes. I really don't have the answer to why Lana and/or Larry never fell for each other. I do, however, remember the episode where Jack dates Helen's relative (the archeologist from Seattle?). When Janet, Chrissy, and Larry learn that it's an older woman, doesn't Larry start sayin' somethin' about it not bein' good for an older woman and younger man to be together, but it would be okay if it were an older man and younger woman together? Janet says, "Larry, just what do you have against older women?" Larry says, "nothin', my mother's an older woman, but you don't see me wantin' to date her". I think Janet calls Larry a pig or chauvinist or somethin'. Doesn't Jack say, "...he is such a hypocrite" right after Larry leaves?
Anyway, Janet and Chrissy end up thinkin' it's the mother that Jack is datin' and she's like in her 70's or 80's, but it turns out to be her daugher, who's still older than Jack. She's much closer to Lana's age (Ironically or not, cause Jack doesn't want Lana). Eventually, Larry comes back to the apartment and bascially apollogizes for his views about older women, but Janet then says that he was right.
Janet has called Jack a male chauvinist oink, too, though. You also know what she thought of Cindy's boss Mr. Hadley, who was behavin' badly. That's kinda what Janet thought of a lot of guys, at least in the later episodes. Maybe that's more of a reflection on Janet than Larry. It does seem like Larry went for the younger ladies, though. If Larry and Jack both dated younger women a lot, the gap between Larry's age and his dates' ages would be more pronounced than Jack and his dates' ages, if Larry were indeed older than Jack. That could be another example of Larry bein' fond of much younger women. Maybe I'm overanalyzing this thing too much.
What do y'all think?
PrettyinPink55 07-16-2006, 01:43 AM I never thought about that before! Maybe their horny personalities would've clashed!

Or maybe Larry already knew Lana was an older woman and that's why he got Jack to take his place as the Male escort-lol
