Hello all,

Could someone tell me what episode was John Astin's last for Murder, She Wrote? What season was it? And does anyone know why he left the show? Was it to star in the new show Mary? Thanks in advance!

I believe his last appearance was in the episode Sticks and Stones from season two. I haven't seen the episode yet, but I read that in that episode, his characters turns out to be the murderer, so that explains why he never showed up again - Jessica sent him to jail!

Of course, I'm of the opinion that it was Jessica herself who was killing all those people and framing others.

His last appearance playing Harry was in season 2 episode Sticks and Stones and he did turn out to be the murderer. John Astin played another character though in the episode called Film Flam, but in this episode he played the victim. I think it was in the last year of the show.

I love Sticks and Stones!:) It's one of my many, many favorites.

Hey--since you're so interested in John Astin, have you ever seen the episode of "The Facts of Life" that John Astin was in? He was adorable in that episode---I saw that before I saw his MSW work, and it made me more excited to see him in MSW, because he is in fact so adorable!
