In the early stages of the shows pre-production, the school was originally called Eastman, but once the series went into production it was changed to Eastland; probably due to the fact that there was already a school on the east coast called Eastman School of Music in Rochester New York. No doubt the early uniforms bore the name Eastman on the patches and since they were too small to be noticed on screen, they saved time and money by leaving them that way.
